replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @LindaPeters64 A4) I'd say that Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument north of Las Vegas is a hidden gem in progress since most of it is still rare & undeveloped for most visitors at this time but the potential is there for help tell the desert's story. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A4: I find that many people in New York don’t visit the Connecticut shore much, including Hammonasset Beach State Park near Madison. It’s full of great rock formations, incl those left behind from the last glaciation. #TRLT

A:5 join a local walking tour or back alley tour at the destination you are visiting that is usually how I find the hidden gems #TRLT

A5: Check with locals to see where they spend their free time, enjoy a meal out and take visitors to explore in their area.

Utilize public transportation, a day pass can open windows to hidden Travel Gems. Walking & paddling provides a beautiful perspective.

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 A4: The San Jacinto Monument and the Houston Ship Channel #TRLT @VisitHouston You cross on a barge for free and its pretty amazing to see the big ships come through this narrow passage. And this think what happened here (a war) many years ago is mind boggling.

replying to @JLipowski @JLipowski A5) Without being too risky take a look down that side street and go for a walk to see what you can find like I did while I was in Paris and found this little park surrounded by office buildings. It gave me another view in how people live there. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A5: Take your time to explore and follow your instincts. #TRLT Bath is a tourist magnet, but the Museum of Bath at Work (in a former real tennis court) is worth seeking out for another side of the city.

A5 Ask a local! They always know the best places to go in their town or region, including the special, secret places which often aren’t in guidebooks. 1. Albania 2. North Macedonia 3. Uzbekistan 4. Georgia #trlt

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A5: Talk to the Tourist Board. Usually there are places they want people to see, but everyone goes to the main things. Wander off the path around the major sites. Often the next street/town over are amazing. Airport towns are great too #TRLT Roissy-en-France here near CDG.
