Actually being able to get the bush plane into the crater thru The Gates to land at Surprise Lake was, well, a surprise after 6 days of waiting at a lodge for clear enough weather.

A4: a National Park that surprised us was exploring the otherworldly beauty of Cueva de las Maravillas National Park (Cave of Wonders), discovered in 1926, in #DominicanRepublic, with stalactites, stalagmites, & well-preserved works of ancient art.

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @TravelAtWill 'Great' might be a bit much. But the Ginkgo Petrified Forest is about an hour from us, and on occasion you can see Big Horn Sheep right at the interpretive center/museum before you hike the short mile + trail. #trlt a4
