A1 Hard to pick the most spectacular of castles, palaces and forts. Most people might visit the Taj Mahal in Agra. But the Agra Red Fort was simply stunning! https://t.co/HNP6BYE3TB #TRLT @TheTravelCamel @JLipowski @ramblrramblr

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @ramblRramblR A1: I loved Agra Fort. In my mind, I think it's a much better structure than the Taj. I felt at peace there for some reason. #TRLT Plus you don't have to smell the river behind the Taj #WhereisKerwin

A1 #TRLT Probably my favorite palace I’ve visited was Versailles in France. I really liked the Hall of Mirrors.

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @ramblRramblR A1: I wouldn’t say special but I do love water castles such as Leeds Castle in Kent or the hunting castle in Moritzburg. Charming little places and the water element applies a magical touch #TRLT

A1 #TRLT King John's castle in @CarlingfordIRE There's been a good bit of restoration/accessibilty work done since I took these pics, all to the good, but still remember the quiet unrestored days too --many good memories. #Ireland ☘️

Dolmabahçe Palace #Turkey is pretty special. It’s extravagance precipitated the ottoman empire’s bankruptcy #TRLT #Türkiye A1

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @ramblRramblR A1 That's a difficult one to answer but I think it has to be this place in Udaipur which was built as a Summer Palace but now is a hotel...#trlt I saw it from a distance on my first trip to India back in the 80's and vowed I would stay one day which I eventually did!

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @ramblRramblR A1: The Kronborg Castle in Denmark - it had that Shakespearean touch to it and "Hamlet" was being performed when we visited. #TRLT https://t.co/27LDZJIfz8

A1: A Fort that is unique is Old Montreal, Canada. Founded by French settlers in 1642 as Fort Ville-Marie, Old Montreal is home to many structures dating back to the era of New France.
An enchanting combination of old & new, Montreal shines beautifully.

A2: About 10 miles from us lie the ruins of @BerkoCastle, where the Anglo-Saxons surrendered to William the Conqueror in 1066. Thomas Beckett owned (and lost) it, Geoffrey Chaucer was Clerk of Works here and it features in Graham Greene's novel Doctor Crombie @LindaPeters64 #TRLT

A2: Fort Mason is standing strong in case we ever need to blow up the Golden Gate Bridge. Also (and more significantly), during WWII, two-thirds of all U.S. troops sent to the Pacific passed through this port #TRLT #SanFrancisco
