A1: slow travel is taking your time. Following local time.
Getting to know the culture and eating the local food.
Here, getting baguettes in Tahiti

Tobacco Caye, a laid-back, 3-acre isle along the Belize Reef. A monthlong meander, seeing what I want, with lots of surprises you won't get in a "package"

2. Travel should not drain us in some frenzy of often dysfunctional activity that comes between us & all the wonderful experiences that await by trying to do too much. We’ve done well if we come back exhilarated & reasonably rested ready for more adventures. #TRLT

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @LindaPeters64 #TRLT a3 we consider this a bit of Slow Travel. We have a roughly 2 mile trail near us in one direction to a winery. You hike up, can just chill all day & then hike back. All at your own pace. And 'only' two miles. We just happen to be a bunch of #GoCougs also🐾

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @CharlesMcCool A2. Slow travel provides an opportunity to learn more about the history, culture, and people in each destination. Plus it's a time for self-reflection and really go beyond the superficial. #Grenada #TRLT

A3 I’d say experiencing Baracoa #Cuba via bamboo raft. I stayed with a local bnb who arranged very local adventures. @LindaPeters64 #trlt #traveltuesday

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A3) Going through the Panama Canal isn't a quick process and being on a small boat in the locks is definitely an experience I won't forget. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A3: I did spend prolonged time in Wales; it was great walking along the shore of the receded sea. Thinking time. Nature is pretty amazing, to see the tide in and then the tide out; being able to walk where the ocean once stood & see it on a map like you've walked on water #TRLT

A3: a unique experience that I gained via Slow Travel was a stay at this amazing @Airbnb in La Fortuna, Costa Rica. With fresh butter, cheese, and horseback riding, a nearby sloth sanctuary we were immersed in culture and nature. @LindaPeters64

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3. Definitely being able to stop and enjoy natural phenomenon is part of slow travel! You can notice more seasonal things too like flowers or birds 🦢 Right now if you come here you can see snow geese, if you want to take it slow rather than driving by like me/ opps🤓 #trlt
