Q5. Slow Travel isn’t necessarily about doing things ‘slowly’ – it’s more about thinking carefully about what you choose to do. Whether that’s a simple walk in the park or a trip to a local farm shop, it’s about taking the time to appreciate your surroundings. #TRLT

A5 You need to plan to take a few extra days to see a city well or week for a region or months for a country. Say no to the 36-hrs in x,y, or x place via @junkkdna #TRLT #traveltuesday

A5: Don't go by plane or car. Train, boat, bike or walk can all qualify as #SlowTravel. The Trans-Siberian Express is the slowest 'express' train ever! There's nothing like messing about on the river - as these images from Henley's River and Rowing Museum show. @junkkdna #TRLT

A5: Keep things simple. Head to nature like I do and switch off your data. This is me in Zimbabwe #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @junkkDNA A5: By being very selective and trusting your own taste. If you're an experienced traveler (like many here) you already know what you most enjoy. Ignore all social media pressures to do what others do -- unless it's your jam too. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @junkkDNA A5: I just visit places more than once. And do what I can in the time I have. I love airports, markets & people, so that's easy. In no hurry; I look for openings #TRLT With the current situation, it's difficult to do the travel I do, expensive to do waits for tests. Drive local.

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @junkkDNA A5. I get out into the neighborhoods and eat at local places. The smaller the better. The cook/manager/hostess (usually all one person) is always fun to talk to. #trlt

A5: To enjoy Slow Travel, when everything seems to be on a fast track, be open to possibilities.
Take longer trips, stay in a community; each new day provides fresh opportunities to connect with the people and culture around us.

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @junkkDNA A5) Perhaps being retired & primarily not worrying about deadlines helps put my mind in the right mood for "Slow Travel" and taking afternoon naps. 😴 #TRLT

More throngs offloaded from 5 buses, 📸📷📸& they're off to their next drive by. Hiring a local guide allows you to modify on the fly.

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @junkkDNA A5: We sometimes have the opportunity to rent an apartment somewhere for a month or so at a time. and being based on continental Europe helps. I'm getting more into impromptu trips, so you can stay at places if they captivate you! #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A5. I usually do not do slow travel as i dont get many holidays. I try to squeeze in a lot of places, as there's so much to see in this world. But i do try to keep a day or 2 free based on my vacay to unwind & connect w nature. Do nothing & just gaze at sky/mountains/waves #trlt

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @junkkDNA A5. The benefit of our modern technology is that you can really plan and check things out ahead of time so then you will be armed with more info to make a slow travel. Also you can see sights you’ll have to pass up in high resolution! 🗺 #trlt

A5: Managing Slow Travel is to ignore external pressure to do more and see more - take the time to travel at a pace that is comfortable for you. #TRLT
