Probably the most remote would be either Galapagos or Komodo Islands. Both essentially require staying a couple nights on a boat to visit most of the sites.

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas A3: The Koyasan monastery town in Japan - the place was so quiet and serene that one could hear the subtle sounds of nature #TRLT https://t.co/8d7Bp4lJR3

#TRLT A3: Actually, a lot of the UK is like this. Only a short hop away from a town and you're into countryside, farming, wild coastline ... this is all in Orkney.

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3: Lapland is wide area so there is a certain feel of remoteness despite of some tourist areas. You can walk hours without seeing hardly anyone. #trlt

The most remote place I’ve been: a delta cruise through villages of rural southwestern Bangladesh last weekend. People appeared genuinely astonished to see western visitors. #trlt

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3) Perhaps because this small park/courtyard hidden away from the public in Paris was empty but it felt like I had just discovered the most remote place in the "City of Lights". #TRLT

A3: Taking a hike through the woods on the Sarajevo Olympic Bobsled track feels like walking through a remote apocalyptic setting when in fact the city center is just a short cable car ride away.

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3: Chureito Pagoda, Japan. Walk up a hill with a view of Mount Fuji. Beautiful view for you and 10,000 other tourists standing on the platform taking pictures #trlt
