replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3 Masada National Park in Israel certainly felt that way! The views over to the dead sea and the history behind the ruins gave it a remote feeling. #TRLT https://t.co/Rfb5PtjKN6

A3: a place that I've visited, that feels remote, but was not, is
Santa Cruz, California. What made it feel this way was the tranquility of Natural Bridges State Marine Reserve, a protected area located at the northern edge, approximately 75 miles south of San Francisco.

replying to @JLipowski @JLipowski A3 We visited Cesky Krumlov in Nov 2019 and pretty much had the place to ourselves! It's one of the most popular tourists sites in the country but so quiet in the off-season. Definitely felt like we had stepped back in time! #TRLT

A1 one of the most remote: Pyramiden, an abandoned Russian mining town on Svalbard (at ca 78 ° N.) #trlt

A4: The small town of Omorante that sits by the fast flowing Omo River in south-west Ethiopia took some real effort to reach. It felt at the edge of civilisation. Tiring, but an incredible experience. #TRLT

#trlt A4: ... I have friends who, when I showed them the picture of the aeroplane I took to get to/between some remote places, reminded me why I usually travel solo ... :D

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A1 It has to be Komodo island, that place feels like you have travelled to the ends of the earth! #TRLT https://t.co/SvBgLQoV1y

A3. Hiking to the peak of Mt. Charleston, NV is remote but the trailhead starts a quick 45 minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip! #TRLT https://t.co/mgFJYtBTKE

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A4: to reach a nice lodge in the #Kibale Forest in #Uganda I had to strap on my luggage and ride a motorcycle taxi for I don't know how much time. Pure #african experience! #TRLT #travel

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3: umm. a ride along the Thames in Woolwich, London feels that way a bit as its far from the city, but you are in London. https://t.co/nOTTMmYYet #trlt

#trlt A4: mmmm, when your guide carries a machete, or the only boat is a small canoe with a hole in, you know you're going somewhere less trod. [Vanuatu again]

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A1 #trlt that must be the Empty Quarter in Oman. I think apart from the South pole, it must be the most remote place on earth.

A3: A recent trip along the bank on the other side of my local river gave me a different perspective. Like walking on the other side of the mirror. Especially when no one was around.
