Remote Places

#TRLT A3: Actually, a lot of the UK is like this. Only a short hop away from a town and you're into countryside, farming, wild coastline ... this is all in Orkney.
RT @ramblRramblR: @LindaPeters64 A3. Eastern Washington & Oregon can feel remote but it’s very accessible! #TRLT https://t.co/SKe64eeD5Q
replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 Love Costa Rica. I went there years ago to help heal from deep grief. It was a lovely place to visit and I would love to return to see more of it. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3: Lapland is wide area so there is a certain feel of remoteness despite of some tourist areas. You can walk hours without seeing hardly anyone. #trlt
replying to @CaitlinKellyNYC @CaitlinKellyNYC There are lots of remote places around us - they can be found. We are only 200 yards from the beach and the dunes are usually deserted. It feels like a world away when walking through them. #TRLT
The most remote place I’ve been: a delta cruise through villages of rural southwestern Bangladesh last weekend. People appeared genuinely astonished to see western visitors. #trlt

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3) Perhaps because this small park/courtyard hidden away from the public in Paris was empty but it felt like I had just discovered the most remote place in the "City of Lights". #TRLT
A3: Taking a hike through the woods on the Sarajevo Olympic Bobsled track feels like walking through a remote apocalyptic setting when in fact the city center is just a short cable car ride away.

Just got back from visiting #SuperstitionMountains, just 1/2 hour south of #phoenix, #Tempe & #Scottsdale, but feels a world away!🌵@ArizonaTourism @visitphoenix @expScottsdale @tempetourism #TRLT #travel #traveltuesday @TheTravelCamel
A1. Hard to say which is the most remote. Uluru, Whakaari, & Westfjords come to mind! #TRLT https://t.co/4u4Uc2bDU3
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot Lovely! It’s nice to just go and find places like that by walking. Make a few turns and you’re in a whole different place. #trlt
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel #TRLT A3. I stayed at a nice hotel in Suchitoto El Salvador which was down the road from the main square. There were few guests. I felt very relaxed. Then walked to town for the 5 pm pupusas being made in the street. Was my fav spot in El Salvador
replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @JLipowski I also had one of the island residents stop by. #TRLT
replying to @ASolastie @ASolastie @TheTravelCamel I've been to a couple. They're not places I've been to often, I'll be honest, but I find them quite inspirationally vast. #trlt
AGAIN #Q3: Have you ever visited a place that feels remote, but was not. What made it feel this way? Show us a photo! #TRLT
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @LindaPeters64 October 2018 was when I was there. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3 Masada National Park in Israel certainly felt that way! The views over to the dead sea and the history behind the ruins gave it a remote feeling. #TRLT https://t.co/Rfb5PtjKN6
replying to @ramblRramblR @ramblRramblR @LindaPeters64 These sort of places are very special. #TRLT
replying to @ramblRramblR @ramblRramblR very much so. And there's a whole series of footpaths that go through them, so you're almost guaranteed to be on your own at some point. Just you and the air. #trlt

replying to @bemusedbackpack @bemusedbackpack Excellent answer. I normally don't like heights, but the views from the top were incredible. And there is a lot to explore too. #TRLT
A3: a place that I've visited, that feels remote, but was not, is
Santa Cruz, California. What made it feel this way was the tranquility of Natural Bridges State Marine Reserve, a protected area located at the northern edge, approximately 75 miles south of San Francisco.

replying to @JLipowski @JLipowski A3 We visited Cesky Krumlov in Nov 2019 and pretty much had the place to ourselves! It's one of the most popular tourists sites in the country but so quiet in the off-season. Definitely felt like we had stepped back in time! #TRLT
