A3: A recent trip along the bank on the other side of my local river gave me a different perspective. Like walking on the other side of the mirror. Especially when no one was around.

Takes some cliffside driving on narrow roads to get to this #mountain lodge in @Spain's Pyreness, but you’ll be rewarded with jaw-dropping views when you get to Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, which runs along the French border. @laPatrii @SpaininUSA #TRLT #TravelTuesday

replying to @k_isham @k_isham Welcome to #TRLT Yes, we often miss what is very close to home.
A4: Throwing it back to our cover photo — Wadi Rum literally has no roads as it’s a protected area. The only way to get around is in the back of a 4x4 pickup, or by camel.

RT @TheTravelCamel: @k_isham Welcome to #TRLT Yes, we often miss what is very close to home.
A4: Remote Places can be difficult to visit. Challenges we've experienced while heading to Remote Places in British Columbia, include long traffic lineups, ferry schedules, reservations, cancellation of some sailing vessels, creating chaos and weary travellers.

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 We agree with all of that about CostaRica! The area is beautiful & the people are wonderful 💖 Our recent experience there was fabulous! #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel There is! Time spent in that desert is truly special. #TRLT
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @LindaPeters64 A4: Mo-peds from Mae Hong Son (a town in N. Thailand) to Burmese border. The road was literally being built, so we used our feet as pontoons through the red dust as construction workers wondered why we were there. The inclines coming home were so steep we walked down some. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @k_isham I'm always fond of hometown travel. And some people even live in relatively remote places too. #trlt Both of these pics are within an easy half hour stroll of where I used to live.

replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @LindaPeters64 A4) My mobility issues can be challenging to get to not only remote places but to many places in general & I have to give myself extra time at each place. It has also worked to my advantage like when I was moved the front of the line to see the Olympic flame in Vancouver BC.#TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A4: Yeah, usually a flight or 2, then, a local van, a boat, then a walk to the place, like a whole day's journey. Was the case for the Caramoan Islands in the Philippines. #trlt. The scariest part was the boat ride as the waters were choppy all the way. https://t.co/6eeoBZec8P

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @ramblRramblR A5: I think many people go to the Grand Canyon, stand on the edge, snap a few photos or selfies, and drive away. It's a wholly different experience to hike in, and deeply...BUT it takes twice as long to return (it took me 4 hrs down, 8 back up.) #TRLT
replying to @k_isham @k_isham @TheTravelCamel and it's likely you get them all to yourself because in a small town, few people know they're there and fewer people will be looking. #trlt

replying to @CaitlinKellyNYC @CaitlinKellyNYC @ramblRramblR I didn't go in, but I did take a couple of hours to walk along the rim. And yes, almost everyone stays near the visitor centre, so even a mile away it felt like I was the only person in the world. #trlt
