A short drive to Iona Beach is rewarding. There's plane-spotting + bird-spotting, mud flats (when tide is out), and the jetty sticking out into the Strait of Georgia. It can get breezy, standing in the "middle" of the water. Jetty length: 4 km/2.5 mi.

A5 #TRLT I don’t think you should have it planned to the last minute, but I do recommend a rough outline of where you want to go, what you want to see & amount of time you have. If you can book ahead of time, I’d recommend that.

Aside from fuelling stops for vehicle, hoomans, (+ possibly quadrupeds), expect stops because you've seen something worth a closer/longer look than a "glancing blow" on the highway. Try not to rush to next destination; the road trip here really is about the journey.

If it's long, empty driving days, fill up just in case, even on half, who knows how is the next station 200km down the road?
If a rental, work out early how much fuel it is using so you know how far you can go on what. #TRLT
