replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CharlesMcCool #TRLT Q3: So these little tiny purplish flowers start growing in March and give the desert a beautiful hue. They're called Tarbeh by the bedouin. (Mid-March to early May are best times to see wildflowers in Wadi Rum). Camels like to eat these.

My daughter loved watching the little scarab beetles - the only creatures we found wandering with us in #WadiRum

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A1: I love sand dunes and any place with powdery, sugary consistency. Recently visited Portugal for the very first time and I'm impressed by the pristine beaches and long stretches. This is North of Porto. Could be Australia, right? #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CharlesMcCool A3. Plants/trees in the desert are a rare sight but they soothe you when spotted. I like date palm and cactus.

A2: I love exploring the unique landscapes of desert environments. During my recent trip to #Arizona I hiked part of the #Phoenix Mountain Preserve and toured the amazing Desert Botanical Garden.

A3 Very little grows in Uzbekistan’s deserts but there are a few plant species well adapted to the dry climate. They help trap moisture & hold the soil together. They’re a vital part of the ecosystem. #trlt
