Engineering Marvels

A2: I'm sure I've seen older, but this stands out from a recent trip. The Roman ruins in London such as the Billingsgate Roman House & Baths include impressive engineering for the time #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @RTWBarefoot A2: Oldest Engineering Marvel I have visited is the Forum in #rome #TRLT
A2 One of the oldest engineering marvels in Uzbekistan is the meridian arc at Ulugbek's Observatory in Samarkand. It's one of the huge instruments the 15th century astronomer used to do study the stars. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 A1. I think this is still the most powerful engine ever built. It is at @INFINITYScience in @SeeCoastalMS #travel #funness #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @RTWBarefoot A2) Probably the ancient Native American ruins in the Southwestern portion of the United States. #TRLT

A2: The oldest Engineering Marvel I have visited? What better than the world's VERY oldest - the Step Pyramid in sunny #Egypt - with even more of a #Heatwave - though the adjacent attractions were more wow @RTWBarefoot #TRLT @TheTravelCamel
replying to @findinganeish @findinganeish @TheTravelCamel B.C.'s Othello Tunnels, named after Shakespeare, are valued for the metaphoric bedrock geology, railway history & engineering feats. After the railway was decommissioned, the route was turned into a hiking trail. #TRLT
A2 A2. The Stones of Stenness on Orkney. Built around 5,400 years ago, they are believed to be the oldest henge monument in the British Isles. #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @RTWBarefoot A2: I actually don't know. Maybe the bridge between Zimbabwe and Zambia? #TRLT But I think the Hagia Sophia is much, much older :-)
A3: The Vizcaya Bridge in Bilbao is one of the only transporter bridges in the world. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site https://t.co/crhFbk0cpO #TRLT
A3: The most unusual (but still attractive) Engineering Marvel I've seen is probably the Baiterek Tower in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. #TRLT
replying to @loyaltytravels @loyaltytravels @RTWBarefoot PS: Here is one of Hagia Sophia during my visit last month. #TRLT
A3 #TRLT Probably the UFO Bridge in Bratislava, Slovakia. Built 50 years ago, was another attempt by the communists to show great things you could build in their society.
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel A3: The Panama Canal - the concept of locks to move between Lake and Ocean levels, is simply amazing #TRLT https://t.co/dJtpWylH2H
I've visited a few ancient engineering marvels. Brú na Bóinne in #Ireland is full of Megalithic tombs like #Newgrange from where this was taken #trlt A2
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @LindaPeters64 I'm here in hot Houston where it will only be 99F today, down from 104F yesterday :). #TrLT. Photo is of a 102F downtown day yesterday. In C, that's upwards of 38!
A2: Montezuma Castle, built between 1100 and 1425 AD, Camp Verde #Arizona. The ingenuity of the Singua people, living 27m up a limestone cliff, it's placement protecting it from exposure to the elements & enemies, beside Beaver Creek's fertile soil, is admirable. #TRLT
