It used to be difficult for me to take extended time off in Spring or Autumn so we ended up with a Silk Road trip visiting Xinjiang province and Uzbekistan in August. We ended up visiting Jiaohe at 6.30 pm as it was too hot earlier in the day.

A3: there are many places that I would still go despite their reputation for excessive heat, as unfortunately, this seems to be the new normal. Travelling during shoulder seasons works well.

A4: Most refreshing food or drink to cool off in hot weather - cold, icy water. Water is my favourite drink at any time of the year, but especially so in hot weather. #TRLT
