A1: One of my longest journeys was from the east coast US to India in 2012--the beginning of a 5-month trip, 2 months in India. #TRLT

replying to @JLipowski @JLipowski @CaitlinKellyNYC A1: Distance - from NZ to London in 1999 and 2003. The longest time spent getting back to NZ was in 2005, when I went Edinburgh > London > Dubai > Brunei > Brisbane > Auckland!

Time - 2 months is probably the longest trip I think. #TRLT

A2: Favourite way to travel a long journey is by train. There is something special about the rhythmic motion and sound of a train gliding along tracks. #TRLT

A2 #trlt I don’t really have a preference. Mostly I have to go by air just because that’s the most practical way to go. When I’m in the area, I’ll use either rail or car. Australia was the other place I went a long distance for.

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @TravelAtWill A2: I'm a huge fan of road trips. But also trains - trains here in Europe are so amazing, we often tootle up to Strasbourg and over to Germany for great prices and only 6 hours with connections via train vs 8-10 hours drive! #TRLT

Here are some Mexican peasants doing their stuff while we were stuck on the road between DF and Oaxaca for a few hours because of a demonstration. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill A2: Honestly, I'd love to go by a small cruise ship but usually end up going by plane. Or a series of planes. Which get older and smaller as I get closer to my destination. #TRLT I usually wear something patriotic:

replying to @JLipowski @JLipowski @TravelAtWill A2) Years ago I made the decision that if I wanted to travel to the places that I wanted to visit that I would primarily have to do it alone which has worked out well for me. #TRLT

A2: I prefer to travel by motorcycle, whenever possible on a long journey. Unfortunately, weather and climate changes have limited our ability to enjoy favourite mode of transport, over the past few years.

A2: Train is the ultimate form of transport for a long journey.

There's an undeniable, timeless romance to a train journey. A gateway to new adventures.

A2: Long journeys by plane are sometimes necessary. It helps to enjoy beautiful sunsets like this on long haul flights. #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill A2. Definitely train. I find air travel uncomfortable and road travel interminable. I don’t want to stare at clouds or cars all day. #TRLT

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @TravelAtWill my ex-gf tried to teach me to ride a bicycle once.

She gave up after just less than an hour because she was laughing too much to be able to help. #trlt

replying to @JLipowski @JLipowski @TravelAtWill If the long journey is to a different country, by plane. If the long journey is a recently completed marathon. Then by foot in my @brooksrunning shoes. #trlt a2
