@LindaPeters64 @TravelAtWill A2 I like the big slow scenic Amtrak trains.

@TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC A1: this is two-fold.
1. I did Houston to Doha on Qatar then to Dubai also on Qatar Airways and it was 24 hours home door to hotel door in Dubai.
2. I flew Newark to Singapore on Singapore Airlines and it was 18.5 hours for the flight alone

A3: Sharing a photo of the road out, from our accommodations
which felt like a long journey in time, but was actually a short journey in distance, just 2 km. South of Tamarindo, the small beachside community of Playa Langosta greeted us like a beautiful oasis.

A4 Albania's roads in 2003 were. a challenge. We had a guide and driver with a sturdy car; just as well. They asked if we were expecting roads as bad as this. @HMatthews' reply (full Lady Bracknell mode): "I was expecting. a road." @travelatwill #TRLT
A3. You can get magically lost for hours at the Dark Hedges in Ireland (aka King's Road)! #TRLT
replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill A4: Not giving ourselves enough down time. When you're only away a week or two you can go pretty hard. but when you're travelling for months, you need to build in down time! #TRLT
A4: some unique challenges that we've had on long journeys?
Flight cancellations or delays, and lost luggage, which have resulted in rearranging our travel plans.
Vehicle issues, like blowing a tire on our motorcycle, and requiring time for repairs.

#trlt A3: I'm going to be imminently doing a blog post which references this (based on a recent podcast/Twitter Spaces I did about my Hike Across Great Britain), but I'd say: mental health. Keeping upbeat. Keeping yourself, well, sane & not getting angsty about little things.
Was abandoned by tour guide on the border between Guatemala and Mexico - a couple of hundred miles from the nearest phone signal never mind settlement #trlt A4
replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @TravelAtWill A4) In Tokyo I had a tour guide who was a fast walker which with my mobility issues was a challenge luckily I did a quick study of the other people in my group so I could follow them when I needed to get back on the bus. #TRLT

@TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill A4. At khardungla, people ain't allowed to wait for more than 20' as O2 level is less at that height. But owing to land slide & bad weather, my group among others got stuck there. My story: How I spent stuck at Khardung La & lived to tell the tale - https://t.co/54SdmyXjhQ

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill A4 In Maldives, my computer didn't update the time zone properly and I was "off" the whole trip. Didn't figure it out until I missed the flight back. Oops. #TRLT @TheTravelCamel @TravelAtWill @HHLifestyleTrav
A4: I missed my connecting flight from Vilnius, Lithuania, to Dhaka, Bangladesh, in Kiev, Ukraine. I had to stay 2 days in Kiev until the next flight, which I loved. Impromptu visit that was a welcome bonus in 2013. #TRLT
