A1: One of my favourite kinds of Historic Places to visit is walled cities; it feels like you are stepping back in time.
Quebec city's winding cobbled streets, stone houses, cafés and shops, reflect France's aspirations to settle in North America.

#TRLT A1. Impossible to choose: museums, historic houses, castles, cathedrals...even industrial sites.

replying to @BradtGuides @BradtGuides Not sure I'd want to camp out on the cliffsides in the middle of winter though! :D #trlt

A1. On England’s Jurassic Coast, it’s possible to see the remnants of history up close. Spend a day on Charmouth beach, and children are just as likely to end up with ammonites in their buckets as blennies or crabs! #TRLT

replying to @CaitlinKellyNYC @CaitlinKellyNYC @LindaPeters64 Excellent choice - we love Sir John Soane's Museum 😊 #TRLT

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @BradtGuides A1) Since I volunteered at John Muir National Historic Site for over 25 years I tend to lean towards historic sites & parks because they can put you in their element at a particular time in history. #TRLT

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @BradtGuides We agree. @PetrieMuseEgypt in London is barely 2 rooms, but the most extraordinary collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts #TRLT

replying to @Ken_Budd @Ken_Budd Wonderful choice - and a very moving picture. We're always struck by how many memorials are to be found in DC #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @BradtGuides A1: I like excavation sites, such as the Acropolis, Pompeii or even the Great Wall of China. It fascinates me how long these builds have stood the test of time and are still preserved today when they've been constructed with simple methods and natural materials. #TRLT

replying to @jasontravelblog @jasontravelblog @BradtGuides Me too - love spending time in them. The longer one stays, the more likely it is to feel the energy of the place. #TRLT

A1. When you’re looking to learn about the history of a place or thing, nothing beats a museum. From London's Old Operating Theatre to The Pitt Rivers in Oxford, England is full of historical exhibitions just waiting to be explored! #TRLT
