Captivating Cultures
TRLT
#TRLT Q5: Verbal language and non-verbal language (gestures, expressions, eye contact) can all share different cultural meanings. What have you learned that captivated you on The Road Less Travelled. Share a photo! via @LindaPeters64
#trlt A5: There's a particular way they do handshakes in Ghana that I was taught, that's hard to describe, but it's more indepth than an English one, more touching.
A5: hand gestures, can share different cultural meanings. I have learned that beckoning someone by curling your index finger toward you with you palm face upward has negative connotations in China, Japan, Singapore, and other parts of East Asia.

A5- One thing I learned while living in 🇯🇵#Japan is that Americans talk over each other, while Japanese wait for each other to finish before speaking. I'm always cognizant of it now.
