A4: Was charged at by a young male elephant in Zambia. Though we were in a game drive vehicle - I was at the back and the charging elephant was coming from the rear. It was only ten or so metres from me when the vehicle picked up enough speed to leave the elephant behind. #TRLT

A4 We watched for days for buffalo in the National Parks. And then a buffalo surprised us in Yellowstone. You could hear me squeal on the video! https://t.co/t80EB9vUd0 #TRLT @TheTravelCamel @JLipowski @RTWBarefoot @caitlinkellynyc

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC The only time I've felt really threatened is in Komodo with the dragons. You feel like you are being hunted #trlt A4

A4 not a scary escape but a few close encounters camping on the beach where crocodiles lurked in the water. Basic safety - camp away from the waters edge and DO NOT SWIM. Very hard in the tropics

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @CaitlinKellyNYC A4 Not scary, but we were feeding Giraffes one time and one of the started eating my wife’s pony tail which made her jump #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC A4: I've done some spectacular swerves to avoid animals running onto the road! Touch wood, I've not hit one yet! #TRLT

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @FE_photograph A4: V scary moment on camping safari in Kenya; staff took off entirely in darkness, leaving us for hours without light, weapons or vehicle. Not fun. #TRLT

A4 not this pic but when snorkeling I thought that a little fish had come to say hello as it was zipping in and out. Then I realised it was a trigger fish and so I beat a hasty retreat #trlt

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @CaitlinKellyNYC A4: Was climbing rock, I refused to play king of the mountain. #trlt

A4 #TRLT I haven’t, I think that goes back to respecting the wildlife. Our elk have lost their fear of people & the tourists think it’s perfectly fine to walk up to a cow & calf for a pic. They find out otherwise. Not my pic, just one I like. https://t.co/BeJ6AgZ9Hu

replying to @TheTravelCamel @TheTravelCamel @CaitlinKellyNYC A4. Not wildlife, no (unless you count spiders) but I’ve had a few run-ins with cows over the year. #TRLT

A4: Not quite a scary escape from wildlife, but being closeby, on a deserted beach in the Yucatan Peninsula as a herd if wild boar charged by was concerning and amazing. 🐾
The powerful force of the herd vibrated the ground and kicked up lots of dust.

A4: At Everglades National Park, I actually saw a woman get in the water to cool off her feet. Not smart. #TRLT
