A2 Not a castle but Ani, a medieval ruin of an Armenian city in the remote eastern part of Turkey is definitely worth seeing. East Turkey is not well-travelled and just by being there, finding this place in the middle of nowhere will make you feel the wonders of it all #TTOT

A2 Well worth the visit: The Rck of Cashel (St. Patrick's Rock), #Ireland, @ancienteastIRL dates from 5th c. Most ruins left are 12th & 13 C. #Celtic art & medieval ruins of buildings including a cathedral. Superb views of the countryside. Images: @SonjaSwissLife #TTOT

#ttot A2: I feel very lucky to have grown up in the UK with numerous castles on my doorstep. I have fond memories of trips to Kenilworth Castle, playing on the grounds and looking for ghosts! - Amy
