Q3 via @IamVagabond What was the biggest cultural shock for you and where did you experience it? #TTOT

All that grunting, liquid-lung, phleghmy throat-clearing and spitting in China. Not a fan. Nope. Not at all #TTOT A3

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @iamvagabond A3. The poverty in Mexico. I think the biggest shock was the children selling things/begging on the streets. It's so hard not to give them anything, but if you give them money they will miss school tomorrow too. Vicious cycle. #TTOT

A3 The biggest cultural shock was realising my own had many faults - red tape, restrictions, over-complicated systems, pace of change, individualism, greed, scaremongering news, you become more aware of when in a different culture. #ttot

A3: I was about 8yo after my family moved back to the U.S. from Italy, and I was baffled that we would walk around our neighborhood to trick-or-treat instead of riding in a car to a few select houses. #TTOT

A3 My 1st job Switz. I didn’t know there’s no sick leave & I got a flu. Called the office but I’m so healthy I never went to a Dr. When I returned they asked for a Dr. certificate Without it they couldn’t pay me (insurance) Since they didn’t tell me, we talked & I was paid. #TTOT

#ttot A3: I have returned home before because I couldn't cope with being in a particular country, though there were external (well, mental issues, so maybe you'd call them 'internal'?!) factors at play as well as the culture shock.

A3: I remember going to Russia and it was the first country I'd been to where I couldn't even read the letters in order to pronounce anything, that took some getting used to but I got pretty good at it by the end, familiar signs helped! #ttot

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @iamvagabond A3: Other than Japan. Probably Naples, Italy in the 90s. It was before Easyjet flew there, and it was a pretty confronting city. Scooter thieves, the Camorra, and just a sensory overload. I bloody loved it though! ;-) #TTOT

replying to @wheresshellyii @wheresshellyii @iamvagabond A3. It's probably not the best topic to discuss, but honestly, the biggest culture shock I have experienced was in Greek toilets. They do not flush the toilet paper. #TTOT.
