A4 #ttot The only thing I’d suggest is arriving early, but mostly because the serves faster if the place isn’t too busy.

A4 Practise at home by going to cafes. You get used to it. Tables by the window allow for watching the outside world so you're less bothered by fellow diners #TTOT https://t.co/WNmiCRiLhW

A4 Some restaurants give the worst table to solo diners, which is usually at the front door where you're most conspicuous. Don't be afraid to ask for a different table #TTOT https://t.co/CIeW1qqtN3

A4. Eating/drinking alone is mostly not much fun - best way is to eat outside a streetside café/restaurant, relax and watch the world go by .....
free entertainment and nobody notices you! #ttot

A4. Ask if you can join others who look approachable. Other people on their own - or groups (couples not so much). #TTOT

A4 When dining alone seek hostels or restaurants that have a singles/group table, bar seating. Ask to share a table in a crowded place or offer places at your table to those searching. Talk to people! #TTOT Image: @pixabay

A4 True! I think they want the solo diners out quickly so they can fill the table with more people who will spend more but it means less awkward time for the solo diner #TTOT https://t.co/X8AYfi0XAh

replying to @wheresshellyii @wheresshellyii @thistravellover A4- A tough one! I love to eat. but terribly shy. I just put on my best lipstick, smile and say hello to whoever makes eye contact and let it go from there. #TTOT

replying to @thistravellover @thistravellover #TTOT A4: Bring a book, explore new things to do online or make friends before going for dinner.
Funny, it’s actually one of the most frequent asked questions when people hear I travel solo. I’m picky with food, going solo gives me freedom

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @thistravellover A4. A table on the patio to watch the world pass by.
Bring a book or a small notepad.
Sit at the bar.
Once I stopped concerning myself with what others thought, the awkwardness went away.

A4 Good for you! @TaitandKate More people should be like you. A lot of people are shy, or shy at times. We just get on with it. #TTOT https://t.co/rfCBwEqNiV

A4 This really works. I'm always asking people if I can share their table at certain types of places. Most congenial #TTOT https://t.co/hozlnpFmkv

A4 Agree - stop worrying what others think of you. Especially since you'll never see them again. Enjoy your meal instead #TTOT https://t.co/bsfJhCWnVB

A4 I agree, @MrBobPowers with the outside cafes. Always a great experience even in winter (so many places have heaters now). #TTOT https://t.co/VQFcDWTwsG

A4 Good advice @TIBTraveller . People seem to really suffer from this and they're not alone. I suppose that it takes experience, attitude & fortitude but I'm with you, the freedom is priceless. #TTOT https://t.co/yETwGM2i7X
