Q4) via @TheExploringEye What are some responsible travel measures you take to minimize the impact of overtourism? #TTOT

A4 As an individual the least we can do is to travel eco-friendly – leave no trace, help the locals with time and money, explore the culture and heritage without exploiting it.

A4 "Take only photos, leave only footprints" - and also try to pick up other peoples' trash. I also use sunscreen which doesn't harm delicate ecosystems such as reefs @TheExploringEye #TTOT

A4 Overtourism is not about STOPPING travel, it’s about HOW we could travel responsibly. Our role as travellers along with other tourism stakeholders is to educate the public, collaborate with local controls, limitations, regulations & enforcement; seeking balance #TTOT @pixabay

A4 Travellers should support local efforts to preserve culture, traditions & historical property. Buy only authentic artisan souvenirs Attend cultural activities respectfully. Eat where locals eat. Photograph heritage sites of which locals are proud. #TTOT Image @SonjaSwissLife

A4: I wouldn't say I do it to be responsible, more for my own sanity, but I love to travel shoulder seasons or if I have to go peak for a festival/season, then I'll visit a lot of tourist sites first thing in the morning to avoid the crowds #ttot

A4 In the safari industry we are trying to promote more green or off season safaris as they offer excellent photographic opportunities and 50%-30% less than peak European summer season. #ttot

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @theexploringeye A4- I've made a habit of travelling off-season to enjoy the place in serenity. along with that, one should:
-avoid travelling with groups
-be an educated & informed traveller
-be eco-friendly on your trip (don't litter)
-utterly respect the culture and privacy

A4 Great advice if one can travel off season (or even during high season!) It's actually a privilege to be able to go when the rest of the travellers are in schools or have kids in school - and that's most of the planet. Some schools in Switzerland fluctuate their holidays. #TTOT https://t.co/3M4536xXZq
