Q2) via @AardvarkSafaris Is having UNESCO status good for the conservation of a site and its local community or a negative (due to overtourism)? #TTOT
replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @theexploringeye @UNESCO @CyLesVida It surely is! Although have to admit it looks more like a landscape from outer space! #ttot
replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes hard to believe it dates all the way back to 5C BC! #ttot

A2. Two sides of the same coin. However, we feel it depends on the government regulations, the policies and control measures. While it is good for lesser known destinations for its revival and conservation, it also means increasing visits and its consequences.
#ttot
A2. Such statuses with control measures can help to a great extent.

A1: Is the Mount Hua in China on the UNESCO list? https://t.co/drIqbLOiV8 If it's not, get it on there, as that's the spot, which I would love to visit! #TTOT
replying to @theexploringeye
@theexploringeye @macatoo Great choices - that sounds like an awesome wildlife adventure! #ttot
@UnchartedAfrica - mobile safari camp in the Makgadikgadi Pan, Botswana
A2: I think the positives outweigh the negatives as it makes it harder for the sites to be developed and encourages conservation efforts #ttot
replying to @wheresshellyii @wheresshellyii @aardvarksafaris A2- There are pros and cons to everything we do. @UNESCO protects a site but as soon as it's inscribed, people start bombarding it with tourism which, soon, turns into overtourism and invasion of residents’ privacy. Authorities must maintain a balance between the two. #TTOT
replying to @aardvarksafaris @aardvarksafaris @macatoo @UnchartedAfrica amazing it is, what could be the best time to do this places #TTOT
A2: IMHO, having UNESCO status is good for the conservation of a site, preserving its rich history, heritage and culture. It can be bad when excessive tourism numbers visit the site, adding on stress and pressure to the site and community.

A2: I wouldn’t know. I imagine it depends on the site. #ttot https://t.co/vrgvSfGMhU
A2: It's definitely good. There are so many sights on the list, which should not be overrun. And for the ones who are overrun, local governments needs to take the right steps. #TTOT https://t.co/WVXSk9hMuu

replying to @digitalGeek_au @digitalGeek_au Imagine nobody would care. A lot of times the government would not support to keep the location in good shape. Thanks to the UNESCO they get support & see the importance of it. Then they can take steps to handle overtourism, if this should happen. #ttot
RT @zenas_suitcase: ad The public transport in #Genoa is great for families. It’s really affordable & the same tickets can be used on buses…

Q3) via @TravelHouseUK Which UNESCO site that you've visited was the most difficult to visit / access? #TTOT
A3. Nalanda University – one of world’s oldest universities. While we loved the fact that the remains boast of ancient learnings as early as 5th century AD, the visit for us was difficult in terms of accessibility. Although well preserved, there are very few ruins left.
