replying to @wheresshellyii @wheresshellyii @FindTransfers A2. I am not an expert at all but I do think that right now is a time to pivot and focus on what people can do from home now. Ie: give cultural "tours" on @Patreon - find ways to help locally/donate to hospitals. Ask customers to accept credit instead of cash refunds #ttot.

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @FindTransfers A2. The industry will survive regardless. There's no need for hyperbole here. This WILL pass, there will be some casualties but most of the industry will get back to normal. I just hope that if airlines get a bailout changes are made to their operating procedures & attitude #TTOT

A2 ALL tourism players MUST adhere authentically & immediately to environmental concerns already recognized by responsible travel leaders & scientists. #Deforestation, #ClimateChange impact & #Wildlife abuse are the sources of deadly viruses https://t.co/ZJV6P4mDXi #TTOT

A2: Have a huge amount of savings or good insurance that covers this sort of thing. My honest opinion is that a great deal of small tourism operators will close permanently.

A2. Be considerate towards your clients.

A2:

1. Start with a proper crisis communication! Some travelers are stuck abroad & get little info.

2. Start working on your recovery phase. now!

A2. I'm loving the many virtual tours right now. Also, pleas to postpone instead of cancelling trips. Think it's also important to be a source of inspiration, esp. now. #TTOT https://t.co/wLxOl8Qh32

A2: I think those with money in the bank and a good brand/reputation will survive. Recovery will be heavy discounts after the threat passes. I almost took a job 2 months ago, glad I didn’t. #ttot https://t.co/g22ChjPk1l

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes A2 I also think the industry shouldn't pull up it's drawbridges as it has been. It needs to adopt a not now, but later approach, and work with professional bloggers to manage the crisis and bounce back stronger when it is over #TTOT

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @FindTransfers A2 Great question.

I think about the airline industry. They have been getting a lot of heat for cutting back, and asking us to pay for every little thing. And tickets price not decreasing. #TTOT.

ex Price 83.60€+57.15€ (taxes and fees)= 140.75€

A2: There's going to have to be some govt bail-outs for the airlines. Here in Aus the govt has already setup some large payments to small businesses to help retain staff. #ttot

A2 IMHO, plan the next move, start to put a strategic plan in place by focusing more on local tourism rather than foreigners. And, at this stage, just stay in silence or take a strong position, just like the guys at @visitwales did. #TTOT

A2.
- Reducing overhead costs through unpaid leave for employees, pay cut from top mgt to front line.
- Financing to get cash flow/aid for business continuation
- A new biz contingency and continuity plan should another such crisis arises
- Plans to bring visitors back

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @FindTransfers A2 #TTOT - For us small businesses in the travel industry I can't see an obvious answer. Lucky we have v low overheads and clients happy to transfer their bookings to 2021. Working on making sure we're top of people's minds when this is all over! #adventuretravel

A2 Good point, @Travelpack sThere will readjustment to airlines' pricing & some are already talking about it. We can only hope for the end of price gouging from oligarchic companies. #TTOT https://t.co/FXwAVPgUOo

A2. Yes, Hannah, @HHLifestyleTrav there will always be travellers if there is a planet. Actually freelancers & small companies can be nimble & quick & respond faster than some big heavy complicated companies- we've seen giants fall already. #TTOT https://t.co/X2Nu818Xlt
