Q1 via @insidetravellab: What's the best small touch you've seen in an eco resort? Eg water in glass bottles, recycled candle lighting etc #TTOT

Greetings from the north of Hampshire for #TTOT today.
P.S. Can’t speak for the whole team, but this bit of it doesn’t tend to choose resort-based vacations, so A1, 2 & 4 today are all based on a stay at the very eco-conscious @reethi_beach (no affiliation).

A1: Not really a small touch (far more than that), but loved it. @Grootbos got their own garden, where they grow lots of stuff for their restaurant. They also teach people from the local community to do this. #TTOT https://t.co/IweAn3z0gf

A1: The glass bottles replacing 400 #singleuseplastic bottles per day were pretty obvious, but there’s a lot going on behind the scenes, incl. use of heat exchangers and energy recovery systems. More here: https://t.co/cAXQvEpGXu. #TTOT

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @insidetravellab A1 Glass or steel bottles are becoming a norm now. Natural lighting to reduce power consumption is something that is yet to trend. Most resorts are energy guzzlers. #ttot

A1 Swedish Lapland at Granö Beckasin Eco lodge, camping & treehouses. A small touch: attractive folkloric tables/chairs hand carved by locals in regional wood. #TTOT Image: @SonjaSwissLife

A1 instructions at reception, and on wall on how to be more responsible while there 😀
#Campaign on beach against trash on #Ibiza, very cool, organised by local government

A1 The educational part of it is novel. Other accommodation gardens are just grown for the restaurants. #TTOT@Grosstbos https://t.co/RGbB44f5cj

A1 It's a start, using other bottle & container materials. #NaturalLighting is an excellent suggestion upon which many hospitality venues could focus. #TTOT https://t.co/Jjr9htENUL

A1: I've stayed in a guesthouse in New Zealand who had a tiny box, size of a shoebox, which was actually a water power plant & only cost $280 & which produced the whole electricity for the guesthouse. #TTOT

A1. The best small touches are such as #ecofriendly measures for your towels and bed linen in the room if u choose not to wash/change them.
Less plastic, more bottles.
I recently got to know more about #Sonnenglas solar lantern - https://t.co/68xfYrFSa5

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @anuradhagoyal @insidetravellab A1 Yes. Natural light may not be enough in some places in winter like Scandinavia & the northern areas that are frequented. #TTOT

A1 - In Helsinki, hotels had separate bins for recyclable materials and general waste. Plus somewhere to donate clothes if you don't want them at the end of a trip #TTOT
