replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @SonjaSwissLife @CharlesMcCool 2 of those weeks were just before lockdown haha! We have done 4 days away after lockdown here in France - chose to remain within our region of France due to watching the hotspots within our own country. Borders have opened and closed a bunch of times. #TTOT

A3 While travelling https://t.co/mGlZAGls28 with your government’s Embassy (website or phone). Internet check for updates of important situations, Hot Spot Reports, Government advisories. Contacts in your own hometown to keep track of you. #TTOT

replying to @Expat_in_Europa
@Expat_in_Europa @SonjaSwissLife @CharlesMcCool I haven't heard that planes, trains or public transportation turned into spreader events.
Actually. only 0.2% of new infections happen in public transport; 2.5% in hotels in Germany!
80% happen in private environment like at home, working space, kindergarten or hospitals. #TTOT

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife That's very good to hear and that's one good solution then! #ttot

RT @wyldfamtravel: Have you always wanted to #visit #European #Christmas markets? The #Alsace in France should be your number 1 destination…

A2. Keeping a full box of masks in the most accessible pocket of bag and a bottle of sanitizer, for sure. #TTOT #Travelhouseuk https://t.co/ayqyqtnImL

replying to @tangenghui @tangenghui @SonjaSwissLife There is a good realistic chance that we have to find a way to live with the virus for a while. But I also don't see a huge problem with it, if done properly. I don't even see a problem that people can travel. #ttot

This will be the solution for a time. Ironic that we have to use those cars that we have been trying as eco concerns to get off the road. But some public transportation is not recommended - depending - even with distancing passengers - air circulation is also important. #TTOT https://t.co/NetRKojRfz

A2: When I book a hotel, I check their website if they write something about the current situation and what they do to minimalize the risk. But in general I don't think much needs to be done.
Wear your mask & keep distance where needed. Done!

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @SonjaSwissLife Rural parts of France :-) Within 3-4 hours of our house, so that we could get back easily if there was another lockdown / issues. We enjoyed the lack of crowds in the castles of the Dordogne (off season)! Had the places mostly to ourselves :-) #TTOT

replying to @SonjaSwissLife
@SonjaSwissLife 1st class trains in Portugal are just SO reasonably priced Sonja. And don't worry too much about that near-empty carriage. It's NOT just because of covid. Same for me in 2017 (4 other people in whole carriage - while other carriages were packed).

Q4 via @TravelDudes:
How do you balance safety and adventure/experience while traveling? #TTOT

A: Haven't had any cases of the virus in my area for months. Things are mostly back to normal. Biggest change is most places require hand sanitiser to enter now. #ttot

replying to @HHLifestyleTrav
@HHLifestyleTrav @SonjaSwissLife @CharlesMcCool The closing and opening of borders is what f*cks up the travel industry right now.
Instead they should start working on proper restrictions which work, which is NOT allowing private events with 50-300 people. #TTOT

For awhile with caution & there will be an end to COVID19 even if there's no vaccine. SARS 2002 in China ended through mostly quarantine. #TTOT https://t.co/RGdbh7X2Ly

RT @TravelDudes: Q4 via @TravelDudes:
How do you balance safety and adventure/experience while traveling? #TTOT

replying to @ataxiascot @ataxiascot @SonjaSwissLife hahaha. Yes, I've traveled quite a bit of 1. class in the past as well. When booked at the right time, you get a very good price, which costs only a bit more. #ttot

A4 For safety & adventure go to a place with intelligent & detailed precautions. Example East African Safaris Trailer: https://t.co/1v5A9qudE8 Watch 1 hr film by @TheBenaiah BEST JOB EVER 14 DAYS AROUND UGANDA #TTOT https://t.co/WzU22zE3Xh

A1 This is essential information for all. And both industry & passengers must be flexible to"readjust their travel plans easily". TRAVEL/TOUR OPERATORS can be the key to safety for the traveller. #TTOT https://t.co/AFh6w6wM1S

replying to @Expat_in_Europa @Expat_in_Europa Good point! It's good to see how the situation changes of the destination you are heading to. #ttot

replying to @HHLifestyleTrav @HHLifestyleTrav @SonjaSwissLife Looks beautiful! And I've always said, that it's not necessary to travel long distance. It's so much fun to get out and just drive 1-3 hours from your place. especially now! #ttot

Yes. It's different on the trains. There is a reasonable price difference unlike the airlines for 1st class & other a myriad of other classes. #TTOT https://t.co/Gnm1lAlL9C

Add on

@TravelDudes @SonjaSwissLife Bought by accident (Faro - Lisbon). I had an idea of 2nd class ticket price before buying at ticket office. Thought I'd been asked for a few Euros too much, but then realised it was the 1st class price - so just took it. Didn't know beforehand that it was so reasonable.

replying to @nihalmoraes
@nihalmoraes @tangenghui @SonjaSwissLife I get your point, but if you belong to the ones where is a higher risk, then this risk is higher everywhere and not only because you travel.
So when you take the right precautions in life, these should also work when travel.
And a risk stays everywhere obviously. sadly. #ttot

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @SonjaSwissLife @CharlesMcCool That's relying on humanity, which is entirely too unpredictable. If everyone wore a mask and sanitised as a matter of course, the world would be far more open than it is. #TTOT

Q5 via @route_wild:
What advice do you give to travelers who intend to travel lately in order to stay safe? #TTOT

A1 Thanks for your input fm East Africa. I have seen a lot of effort into reopening airports safely & lodge implementing major safety considerations in your area. If the world could follow this initiative of responsibility, they would be now free to travel. #TTOT https://t.co/FVUZhzdw52

This is a good way to travel right now, @HHLifestyleTrav . Just don't go too far away while in a lockdown because in Europe it changes daily and by country. #TTOT https://t.co/9tOZ7Tvkpl
