A4. Great question! I fear: It drives Mass Tourism - Petra in Jordan is probably a "bad" example for that. It also makes the experience more like a tick mark on a list, that some people might go simply to be able to say "I was there".

A4 As soon as a place is on some kind of list, any list really. People visit, just because. When I watch people arriving, taking a selfie and leaving I know it is the tick-off-the- -bucket-list-gang. I always wonder what stories they are going to tell back home. #TTOT

replying to @hendrikmorkel A4. But then it also might bring some tourism to places where there wouldn't be any or very tourism before? Anyway, as long as it doesn't make it a "hot" destination (like the Horseshoe bend in the USA, which got famous via Insta) which gets overrun, I think it is good.
