Q3 via @PureTraveller: Do you consider World Heritage Site status to be either a blessing or a curse? If so, why? #TTOT

Can be both. Rush of visitors + dollars can overcome pace of reasoned management; difficult to modify surroundings. Dresden added a bridge, lost 2004 inscription status in 2009. Vienna wants to add in city centre 60-metre plus tower threatening its inscription status

A3 Destination’s view: more visitors adds to the economy. Protection of the site is implemented to prevent damage. There can be social conflict over how it’s going to be done. Subject to neglect even destruction then unlisted with @UNESCO #TTOT Image #LaLaguna @SonjaSwissLife
