Q3 via @PureTraveller: Is there a risk that the focus on coronavirus will distract travellers from protection against other diseases, or will it make people more aware of travel health concerns? #TTOT

A3. I think people will remain cautious:
Experts Say It Could Be 18 to 24 Months Before Travel Picks Back Up;
Many people are not going to feel safe going back to crowded airplanes.

A3: I feel travelers might begin getting vaccines they don't necessarily need for the countries they are visiting just to be on the safe side. #ttot

A3: Pre-COVID-19 there was a always a notable % of UK travellers who failed to visit a #travelhealth practice prior to overseas travel… education and public information about travel needs to improve.

A3 #COVID19 is distracting #travellers from other health issues as well as from pleasure. I think it has created a greater awareness of hygiene & health that motivates travellers to demand that #travel suppliers become more vigilant in their offers. #TTOT

A3: The skeptic/cynic in me believes that people who were diligent about health before COVID will still be diligent and those who were prone to dismiss it will continue to do so. #TTOT

A3. There is definitely a concern that we might be too focused on the coronavirus situation and distract travelers from other diseases. However, I reckon the increased health and hygiene awareness help people to be more aware of travel health concerns.

A3: To be honest, I'm so disappointed by big parts of the human race over the years, that I wouldn't be surprised if those haven't learned enough of this lesson.

But there are still enough good folks out there. Luckily! 👍 #TTOT https://t.co/C3pBQiDaRk

A3 Indeed, public information must be in the forefront, otherwise the rumours travel fast. #TTOT https://t.co/p3SkeyC1am

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @PureTraveller A3: I think it will / has made people far more aware overall. Especially those who thought, until now, that they were invincible! It's good to look after your health and consider the health of those around you. #TTOT

A3 That's an interesting thought, Adam. Depending on the destination there's a very long list if some want it all. However, there is this atmosphere of fear & over-reacting. As you know already, usually the medical staff will tell you what you need & when to take vaccines #TTOT https://t.co/480zyAkKJB

A3 I think it will make people more aware when travelling but think the opposite is happening when home. It's still important to have health checks when you need to and not put it off. #ttot

A3 Probably a lot gets put on hold. Dentist and clean, pap smear, blood tests etc. It is not an ideal situation. #ttot

A3 Very well said, Hannah. The 'non-existent' invincibility seems to be global & also the culture of saving oneself first. I hope that many people learn something from observing the world reactions of the #COVID19 #TTOT https://t.co/79YXP9pcT9

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @PureTraveller A3 Good question. Think probably would make one think more about own health concerns, just not in area of traveling.
I have a lot of health issues. Cause of them, am considered in the high risk category.

*when not in lockdown, still travel, and take all precautions #TTOT
