A3: As an American living in Japan, I have become spoiled by efficient, high-speed train travel. I'd LOVE to see it in the U.S., but I know there are a LOT of obstacles to making that happen. #TTOT

Current improvements are all to make train travel faster (an alternative to shorthaul flights). Trains are simply becoming planes without wings (hermetically sealed, and with recycled air too). @EuropeByRail

- provide better European connections
- provide a ticket system, so that you can easily book a train ride from Spain to Germany without using a EuroRail pass
- BE ON TIME (though I know what a crazy system is all behind this)

- it's still far too expensive (compared to car or plane)
- it's still takes too long, as you first have the journey to the train station.
- re-open countryside connections (in Germany)
- offer better cabin solutions to use the time more useful, like "business" cabins

A3 for rail travel, the developed world have a system that works just about perfect. For other countries, as travellers its on us to do thorough homework and always have back up plan because so many things can and do go wrong. #TTOT

A3: Improve rail passes!
Allow to use every train, but only charge the ones you used, up to a maximum amount per month. Use an app to handle those. That should be so easy to do.
