@doinggeography @SharLivingstone This is a very beautiful train station!

A1 Nice of examples. Fortunately unused train stations have been repurposed like the Gare d'Orsay in Paris is now an art museum. Lovely architecture here, Stefan. #TTOT #Georgia https://t.co/PWcKIJaYOF

A1. You can walk around, look at scenery, go to dining car for some food, great food at the stations, meet interesting people / locals, good for the environment, yeah 🤓#TTOT #slowtravel #Foodies

A1 #TTOT I enjoy #train #travel because I:
oMeet interesting people even if briefly adds to the richness of the experience
oCan move around the train
oTravel at slower speeds to see more
oCan take photos
oCity centre stations like Edinburgh @ScotRail

replying to @doinggeography @doinggeography @tangenghui @SharLivingstone A1 Is the #Borjomi station just less important but still operating? Love your photos of the architecture. #Borjomi #TTOT

A1. I enjoy #train #travel when I get the chance to explore destinations away from the big cities. The countryside, smaller towns, right into the heart and culture.

A1 It's really the ideal way to #travel on the #train when possible. I hope that it continues to serve the people who love it and the new passengers who have not discovered it yet. #TTOT https://t.co/3nGbmOAT4R

A1 Years ago I was in an overnight compartment going from Munich to Berlin with a guy from Japan, a women from Peru, and a women from Italy. The four of us from four different continents, all around the same age had wonderful conversations. #TTOT

replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife Also means you don't have to stop for meals (assuming you packed one). #TTOT

replying to @doinggeography @doinggeography @SonjaSwissLife @ataxiascot I remember train trips in Peru, were great, but you have to watch out for thieves, had to chain backpack to storage, nothing in my pockets, etc. #ttot

A1. Because usually it is relaxing and comfortable - you can walk around in a train, read, watch a movie, go to the Toilet (!) or eat something at the Café. Also the tracks usually go past interesting scenery outside.

A1 Yes, it is @Darrylwalter. I've taken the West Coast lines which are also improving at least with Fabulous scenery. Also I've taken Milwaukee to Chicago which is a very different experience in arriving the 'Windy City'. #Canadian Rail is spectacular! #TTOT https://t.co/2vPGb4Jbl6

A2. My favourite #rail #travel memory would probably be getting lost in #Tokyo while riding on the JR lines in an era of no social media and Wi-Fi, just my #LonelyPlanet Guide Book!
#TTOT #Train

A2. So many, took trains all over the world Egypt, Sudan, Kenya, Brazil, Argentina, China, Trans-Siberian, all were memorable. I love #train travel. #TTOT
