replying to @DoroLef @DoroLef @TravelDudes Very sobering, as I'd been in Croatia working with the military just a few years after the war, so it explained a lot of attitudes. Kupari is an old hotel complex which remains with its shell damage and bullet holes for urb-ex, and suddenly seems very close to home. #ttot
That-s wonderful to have his background. Happy for you. #TTOT https://t.co/HUPXMCPao7
replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @HHLifestyleTrav @tangenghui So do you prefer the private collection or the official public museum? #ttot

A5 I would love to visit again and again: Musée d’Orsay, Museo del Prado, Tate Modern, Rijksmuseum, Metropolitan Museum of Art. #TTOT
replying to @SonjaSwissLife @SonjaSwissLife @TravelDudes A4: I went to #Madrid solely to see the Prado. It is a holy grail of museums in my area of study. Then I visited the Reina Sofia modern art museum too - and fell more in love with that! haha An exceptional city of museums! #TTOT

@HHLifestyleTrav @tangenghui @route_wild I've been to Bilbao last summer and really liked the Gugenheim museum from the outside. But I was not sure if it's my kind of museum, so I just stayed outside & did other stuff.
So you think it's worth going in? #ttot
replying to @DoroLef @DoroLef @TravelDudes Knew about it before hand as my degree included study of religion, but it's still a 'shock' to see it. #ttot
A5: Shouting out for The Diving Museum in Gosport, UK (no affiliation), as we park by it often, but have yet to go in. With no government funding, COVID-19 has hit such venues hard, and they’ll need everyone’s support as soon as it’s safe to return.

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @SonjaSwissLife @tangenghui See, that's where it gets super interesting. very often museum displays include private collection pieces (as a matter of telling a fuller story, they borrow them). That dynamic and associated tension of contextual release is very interesting! #TTOT
replying to @HHLifestyleTrav
@HHLifestyleTrav @SonjaSwissLife The stories, history, heritage and culture behind the arts, artefacts and collections are amazing. It's priceless!

A5 This must have been fascinating when you were there in #Mongolia. To return would be very interesting and to see the colours and additions #TTOT https://t.co/4z5uvJerRe

replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @tangenghui @route_wild The internal architecture is worth going in for alone! They also happen to have some remarkable pieces of art - especially from the American Abstract Impressionists like Barnett Newman et al :-) #TTOT
A5: The Waterloo museum in Belgium is one I would return to: https://t.co/AS3M9TB8xg
And I would head back to Bochum to the train museum, but only on those days when they operate the trains. 😀

replying to @tangenghui @tangenghui @SonjaSwissLife Very true - the intangible heritage, the stories etc is just as important to transmit as the art itself! #TTOT
Yes, some people like to discover an exhibit on their own and are not comfortable when everything is mentioned by the museum. Very good point. #TTOT https://t.co/xPIglPysCp

replying to @PureTraveller @PureTraveller @TravelDudes Actually, shock is a rather mild word to describe how I felt when I first saw this. #ttot
replying to @HHLifestyleTrav
@HHLifestyleTrav @tangenghui @route_wild And I doubt that the art would find my interest. hahaha
But if it's worth to see it because of the architecture alone, then I'll go in on my next visit. :-) #ttot
replying to @TravelDudes @TravelDudes @tangenghui @route_wild I'd go in for the internal architecture alone - it is a work of art in itself! #TTOT

replying to @PureTraveller @PureTraveller @DoroLef It was first a shock to see it, but the actual shock is, how the Nazis could misuse the symbol in such a way. #ttot
