A3. Design elements that make a hotel special? Elements of whimsy or that make you think, not just lull you into relaxation. #travelskills @W_Guangzhou
A3. @ProjectRunway ‘s @NickVerreos1 visited #TodaysBW HQ to learn about detail elements that go into every BW location: https://t.co/lqRfsCGf3W 🌎🌍🌏 What do you think makes a hotel feel more like home? #TravelSkills
replying to @BestWestern @BestWestern A3 The ones that create a clear path from the bed to the bathroom so you don’t trip over anything in the middle of the night when you need to use the loo #TravelSkills
A3: We always love when hotels incorporate elements of the local culture. #TravelSkills
replying to @BestWestern @BestWestern A3 To me, it’s the “little things” that make a big difference. Like easy-to-access power, a thermostat that doesn’t take an engineering degree to figure out...#TravelSkills
A3 Really good bed linen (quality thread count) minimalist design, yet chic and thinking of the little things - USB chargers, soft towels, good sound proofing #TravelSkills

replying to @BestWestern @BestWestern A3 Also having a desk, and electrical outlets near it and the bed #TravelSkills
replying to @BestWestern @BestWestern A3 Another small thing that makes me happy: When hotel shower bottles are labeled in print large enough for me to read without glasses #TravelSkills
replying to @travelskills @travelskills A3. The view! You can book a hotel/apartment rental anywhere with a bed, a bathroom, but a view is something that can make any stay really special! #TravelSkills
A3. Design elements that include good lighting, and USB ports (see @JohnnyJet's tip a few moments ago) really help us when we travel. Also, a good room layout where furniture isn't in unexpected places! #travelskills
replying to @LandLopers @LandLopers A3 Please put a plug next to my bed. #TravelSkills
replying to @BestWestern @BestWestern A3 I like a bright hotel hallway. Those dark, disco-y black-light, beaty-music hallways are SO 1995! #TravelSkills
replying to @cjmcginnis @cjmcginnis A3 decent lighting works for me #travel #TravelSkills
replying to @theplanetd @theplanetd A3 #TravelSkills I like my events to be close and my coffee even closer.
replying to @travelskills @travelskills A3: one area that often gets overlooked is the elevator area. Having a grand waiting area at The US Grant made me happy every time I had to leave my floor #TravelSkills
replying to @travelskills @travelskills A3 Anything that acknowledges that we, the guests, are tired and don't want to have to stop and think about how to turn on the nightstand light, or how to turn on the shower without being scalded or frozen. Make it intuitive! #travelskills
replying to @travelskills @travelskills A3: Silence! The last thing I want to hear is other people and their (!??) slamming doors -- so doors that close quietly matter. I want very good/efficient lighting, a desk that functions and no bathrooms with glass walls. Ugh. #Travelskills
replying to @travelskills @travelskills A3 I love a big, open lobby when I visit a tropical locale. The Grand Waikikian has a beautiful lobby where I could feel the cool Honolulu breeze. #TravelSkills
A3. Also, please put switches in easy-to-find places so I don't spend my life looking for them. #travelskills

@travelskills A3: Room doors that make a statement.
Think about it, the first impression you have of your room begins to form when you use that key to gain entry, so a clever door design (and even cool keys) can make all the difference in the world.

A3 The Ivy Hotel in @BaltimoreMD paid incredible attention to detail in its furnishings but also comfort. With a walk-in shower, free movies, free breakfast, superb location, paying homage to city’s history plus @Forbes five star restaurant Magdalena #travelskills
A3 Hotel design has the greatest impact when it creates a genuine sense of place. The @ParkHyatt #Mallorca was designed to look and feel like a hillside Andalusian village. I'm still thinking about it! #TravelSkills
replying to @JohnnyJet @JohnnyJet A3 Anything that makes the hotel feel like a kind of home away from home. Lighting is super important, too #TravelSkills

A3 I appreciate a theme or artworks that convey the place you're visiting, rather than some trendy corporate look. Love old hotels where the history shows through, too #TravelSkills
A3 I like hotel designs that combine sleek, sexy, elegant and fun. Cool vibe at the @AndazMaui, love the sand indoors! @wailearesort #wailea #maui #andaz #TravelSkills
replying to @cjmcginnis @cjmcginnis A3: A bed and bathroom. I am not that picky. #travelskills
RT @SmarterTravel: A3: We always love when hotels incorporate elements of the local culture. #TravelSkills
replying to @travelskills @travelskills A3 A consistent customer experience within its design (i.e. app, in room, hotel facilities) would make a hotel more special. I also think that integrating local art and designs without sacrificing a hotel’s style could play a factor. #TravelSkills
