A5. Yes! @007dante and I went whale watching in @mauivisit, Hawaii -- the whales were far away but it was still wonderful. #TravelSkills #LetHawaiiHappen

A5: One of our editors saw whales (plus a lot of other wildlife) on her recent trip to Antarctica: https://t.co/HMggfLF1Ax #TravelSkills

replying to @cjmcginnis @cjmcginnis Yes! @CharlesMcCool and I saw humpback whales and orcas whale-watching in Victoria BC. Awesome experience! @victoriavisitor #travel #travelskills

#TravelSkills A5: Yes! #Maui has the best whale-watching. On the west side of the island, you may be lucky enough to see them from your hotel room! 🐋

Only been whale-watching once. Not sure why haven't done it more often because it's a very cool experience. Maui is great for whales this time of year as they love to congregrate in the waters west of #Maui. Great trips to be had out of Lahaina. A5 #travelskills @gohawaiica

A6. Culture in the islands? The Paepae o He'eia fish ponds on the north side of #Oahu offer amazing insight into 800-year-old sustainable fishing. #TravelSkills

replying to @mauivisit @mauivisit A6 That culture to Hawaiians is very important. If you respect it, they will respect you. #TravelSkills

A6: The State Flower is the beautiful yellow hibiscus, also known as pua aloalo in the Hawaiian language. Our State Motto is: Ua mau ke ea o ka aina i ka pono (Hawaiian for "The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness"). #HawaiianCulture #TravelSkills #Maui #Hawaii

Check out these key buzz words from the first half of today's #TravelSkills chat! Thanks, @mauivisit!

A6: Hawaii is home to the only royal palace in the US, fun fact that comes up a lot in trivia questions. Also, on Lanai you can rent a jeep and head out into the bush to discover ancient petroglyphs carved on the rocks, which I think is cool. #Travelskills

A6 Hawaiian culture originated in Polynesia. Voyagers settled here and sailed the seas by Outrigger Canoe. #travelskills

A6. I know that Hawaii was once a Kingdom that had kings and queens, it was the first state to ban plastic bags (love that!), and the name comes from Polynesian language meaning 'Place of the Gods' or 'Homeland.'
