A5 It's basically there now. So, yes, I think cash will become a thing of the past #TravelSkills

replying to @VisaNews @VisaNews TIP Until the world catches up with technology, make sure you carry a little cash in local currency for public transportation, markets or tips #TravelSkills

A5: I think we’re getting closer and closer and will be surprised by just how fast it happens #travelskills

replying to @BBC_Travel @BBC_Travel @saeed_m_alshams Remember what it was like to ask locals for directions? Seems so archaic now :) #TravelSkills

A5. We already are cashless and card-dependent for the most part. But will printed currency go away completely? I don't think in my lifetime, no. #TravelSkills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A5 Yes and governments like that a lot. Aside from cost savings from not having to make coins & banknotes, e-payments make it much easier for governments to track where people are, how much they spend and on what. Really it isn’t for convenience. #TravelSkills

replying to @cjmcginnis @cjmcginnis @Travel_boomer I’ve also experienced their iris-scanning tech when transferring between terminals. #TravelSkills

replying to @SMmamashack @LandLopers Oh and second is Uber. If I have no cash and dont speak the language, I can call a car, write in the address, have a record of who’s car I am getting into. #travelskills

replying to @ClaireFromYVR @ClaireFromYVR @HideawayReport That's true & trains being at times over a day late (one was 48-hours late) due to freight train congestion does not help either. However, this summer (Was researching for a possible trip) Via plans to operate just two trains even during peak summer season. #travelskills

replying to @VisaNews @VisaNews TIP Check out these countries already paving the way for a cashless world! See this post: https://t.co/FbkrH3N3Wb #VisaAmbassador #TravelSkills

Q5 Do you think the world will eventually move to "cashless" payments? Why or why not? #VisaAmbassador #TravelSkills

replying to @VisaNews @VisaNews A5 On most business trips these days, the only time I use cash is to tip hotel housekeepers. $3-$5 per day usually. #TravelSkills

replying to @nataliediscala @nataliediscala How did we ever travel without smart phones or the internet? #TravelSkills

RT @theplanetd: Q3 What technology makes you feel safer traveling abroad now than you did five years ago? #TravelSkills

Research from @VisaNews shows 87% of travelers have leftover cash after trips but only 29% convert it back to home currency, leaving an average of $123 on the table. You can reduce leftover currency by paying with a Visa card. https://t.co/cUrOknkKTo #VisaAmbassador #TravelSkills

replying to @theplanetd @theplanetd A3 Google Maps. Transport apps for every city. #TravelSkills

replying to @SpudHilton @SpudHilton Yeah I'm still a sucker for a nice old fashioned map from a hotel front desk with penned in directions! :) #TravelSkills

replying to @theplanetd @theplanetd Absolutely -- in fact, switching to electric vehicles could be the simplest way to make a major impact against global warming #TravelSkills

replying to @DonNadeau @DonNadeau @HideawayReport wow, not great. I hope @VIA_Rail can find a way to do better. #TravelSkills

replying to @cjmcginnis @cjmcginnis I'm basically cashless right now. I rarely have cash on me (although my dad always insisted I have cash on me at all times.) I just rarely stop at a bank machine to actually withdraw cash. And using your credit card, you can earn points and perks. #TravelSkills
