TravelSkills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A8 Easiest linguistically to navigate are the English ones (UK, Ireland), especially for those from anglophone countries. The hardest for language seem to be the Eastern European countries. #TravelSkills

I Ihaven’t found any European cities difficult for languages. Maybe some in Eastern Europe but there’s not a major city anywhere in western Europe where you can’t get by with just English. Worse comes to worse, try a language app on your phone! A8 #travelskills

replying to @GermanyTourism @GermanyTourism I am absolutely positive this has happened to me! #TravelSkills

A8 #travelskills Istanbul was probably the hardest. The people who speak the best English want to sell you a rug. The easiest cities would be in Western Europe like Amsterdam or London. Switzerland & the Balkans were also fairly easy.

replying to @GermanyTourism @GermanyTourism A8 Outside of Madrid and Barcelona, it’s tough to find a lot of English spoken in Spain #TravelSkills

Q8 Which European cities are difficult to navigate without speaking the local language? Which are easiest? #TravelSkills

A8: #Amsterdam is an extremely easy city to navigate if you know English and don't know Dutch. In fact, the Netherlands consistently ranks as one of the best in the world at speaking English as a second language. #TravelSkills

A8 French speaking territories are the hardest for me. Either they don't speak English or don't WANT to. Hence why I'm studying French. Keyword: studying #TravelSkills

replying to @AndreaFeczko @AndreaFeczko I’ve noticed that the French generally comprehend English but just refuse to do so based on their personal principals. They’ll pretend not to understand you until you say something that riles them up. Then they magically understand English perfectly. #TravelSkills
