RT @travelskills: Q6 What's your experience sleeping on planes? #TravelSkills https://t.co/bGvGcZzsZR

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A6. Stating the obvious but the flatter and wider the seat the better. J wins hands down, if you’re fortunate enough to get in there. That and Mack silicone ear plugs and Bose noise cancelling headphones. Timing sleep to destination too is best. #TravelSkills

When I flew NYC-->LA-->Australia, I brought protein bars & a huge #glutenfree baguette, saved it for the long transPacific haul. Not a lot of GF options on flights but got to break bread across the Pacific & not have my blood sugar tank. #TravelSkills

A6: I'm not a great plane sleeper at all, but a lie flat bed always helps - like this one I just had on @tapairportugal from ORD-LIS on their new A330neo. #TravelSkills

RT @Australia: @travelskills TIP You can catch direct flights from LA, Dallas, San Francisco, Honolulu and Vancouver, on airlines including…

replying to @travelskills @travelskills It's usually good. I sleep a lot on long flights. Even a little turbulence serve as a lullaby. #TravelSkills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A3: lumbar support, noise cancelling headphones, layers to be prepared for hot or cold plane, snacks! (airplane is never enough or is awful) #Travelskills

replying to @CaitlinKellyNYC @CaitlinKellyNYC @travelskills I'm really sorry to hear that. I don't know if things are just changing in the industry?! I get only 1/3 the work (paid or unpaid) that I used to. Times are tough period. For what it's worth, I'd love to read that story. #TravelSkills

replying to @Australia @Australia A7 Sunlight! It’s jetlag’s kryptonite so if I arrive in the early morning, which many long-hauls tend to do, I go for a walk. #TravelSkills

replying to @Australia @Australia A7 The only REAL remedy for jetlag: Denial! #TravelSkills

A7 Sleep and hydration. Usually i just power through though in whatever time zone i land in. #travelskills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills #TravelSkills A7) Just listen to your body. If you're tired, nap.

replying to @travelskills @travelskills Yeah, I'd rather stop for a breather. #TravelSkills

replying to @JohnnyJet @JohnnyJet @Australia I can’t do sleeping pills. 😳😳 It makes me feel out of it the rest of the day! 😕✈️ #TravelSkills

A6- I tend to sleep just fine on long flights #travelskills #travelingsession #FridayFeeling

#TravelSkills The transit visa can be a smart way to optimize your time when taking a long flight. https://t.co/8BJgjkxa5j

replying to @culinarytravel @culinarytravel @Australia @travelskills @HawaiianAir you got that right! Aloha! @JohnnyJet and I were there last summer w @billionairebrod #TravelSkills

A6: hate it generally. If you are on a #shorthaul to EU, set your watch ahead & go to sleep immediately. No dinner, no alcohol, no entertainment. You are only going to wake up in in 4 hours anyway! Same for #businessclass (unless you are feeling indulgent. #TravelSkills

replying to @cjmcginnis @cjmcginnis @Australia Absolutely agree! I try to seep according to destination time when I Board to minimize jet lag #travelskills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A7 Mentally adapting to the time at the destination as soon as feasible. Unless planning to interact with someone in that time zone it no longer matters to you what time it is back home. #TravelSkills

replying to @guttersniper @guttersniper @ShermansTravel A6: I can sleep pretty much anywhere, anytime (journalist skill). I once (flying to Scotland, solo, age 12) slept on the floor. It was COLD #travelskills

replying to @Australia @Australia TIP To avoid jetlag, get on your destination’s local time when you board the plane. Meaning: Eat and sleep when you would be doing those things in your destination. #TravelSkills

replying to @Australia @Australia TIP It’s okay to take a quick nap on the day you arrive, but do so with hotel room drapes open to help adjust to natural light #TravelSkills

A7 Jet lag is a fact of life & there's only so much you can do about it. Don't think about the time where you were, think about the time where you are/will be. Get on your destination's sleep schedule ASAP. Get some fresh air. You'll be fine. #TravelSkills https://t.co/V0ANuGsREa

A7: No real remedy, just stay hydrated before, during & after the flight and try to get as much natural sunlight as possible once you arrive. And don’t nap! #travelskills

A7: We only wish we had a magical remedy to cure jet lag, but these strategies can help: https://t.co/h6eUIjBHeV #TravelSkills

A7. Still searching for this one even after all these years! 😂🤣Can't wait to read the answers. 🤔😬 #TravelSkills @travelskills

A7. Secret jet lag remedy? Either crash and reset or tough it out. Depends on the destination and when you arrive. And @RedBull. Lots of it. #travelskills

A7 Adjust to the time of where you are as soon as possible. The more well-rested you are, the less it will affect you. #travelskills

replying to @E_Scal @E_Scal @travelskills Window seat! Having something to lean on if you don't have a lie-flat or your seat doesn't recline as far as you'd like helps a lot. #TravelSkills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills Just take rest. Don't try to sleep. Sleep only when you feel sleepy. #TravelSkills

replying to @tweetingtalya @tweetingtalya @travelskills ✈️ IMO, the big advantage of connecting is the chance to exercise--walk around, etc. It cannot possibly be healthy mostly to sit 16 hours Dubai - Atlanta. That's not so important to me on two-aisle fights when easier to move about. #TravelSkills

replying to @DonNadeau @DonNadeau What parts of #Australia did you visit? What did you see, do, and eat? 🥰 #TravelSkills

replying to @KirstenAlana @KirstenAlana @travelskills Thanks! It's crazy now. This story is proving tough to sell but I continue to pitch! #travelskills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A7 #TravelSkills I stay up as much as I can before the flight then just sleep at the destination works for me

replying to @Australia @Australia TIP If you must take a nap during the day after a long flight, set multiple alarms and don’t get under cozy covers if you don’t want to sleep long. Sleep on top of the bed or on a sofa. #TravelSkills

replying to @Australia @Australia TIP When possible, try to book long-haul flights on newer composite-built planes like Airbus A350 or Boeing Dreamliner. Better pressurization and humidity help! #TravelSkills

Q6 What’s my experience sleeping on planes? It’s easier to sleep in biz class or #Premium economy I love @quantas #businessclass @seeaustralia #TravelSkills
