A8. Wouldn’t mind having a long-haul flight from @FlySFO to #Perth. Would love to visit, but dread getting on a 5-hour flight after a 13-hour one. #travelskills (Photo: @MargoPF)

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A7: stay up as long as possible when I land. Just got back from Switzerland where I spent no time jet lagged because I kept busy the day I arrived and stayed up until 9 pm. From then on I was almost exactly on my home schedule #TravelSkills

A8 If I could have any two cities connected by a long-haul flight, it would be my hometown (undisclosed) and #Portofino. But that would involve building an airport at Portofino, which might detract from its charm somewhat. #TravelSkills

A7. I was asked to try Voke Tabs after my last overseas trip. I'm firmly (and sadly) in the jet leg denial group but it worked! I'm not even going to add their url (this isn't an ad)--it worked! #TravelSkills

A7: I listen to my body. If tired I get to my room ( usually pre-arranged to checkin early or late) shower, unpack, #nap or go out. Usually looking for #soup that first night. I have some great soup stories! #TravelSkills @Australia #mushroomsoup

A7- If I have it in me, I try to stay up the night before a long flight and wait until they cut the lights off and down the window shades to sleep. It works in theory, but there have been plenty of times I'm asleep before takeoff #travelskills #travelingsession

replying to @GingerandCarrie @GingerandCarrie Great advice! I tried to do that while still on the plane going to Thailand once. Everyone was noisy while I was trying to sleep & flight attendants yelled at me for opening the shade when I woke since others were sleeping. Sometimes you just go with the flow. #travelskills
