replying to @JohnnyJet @JohnnyJet A5 At least within Manhattan it is a combination of walking and riding the subway. #TravelSkills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A4: I'm thinking local eateries, coffee shops, etc...? #TravelSkills

replying to @turnipseeds @turnipseeds @united Oh wow! A savory donut sounds goooood! I've been Bacon and maple but that's about as savory as I've seen! #TravelSkills

A5: Walking or jetpack is the best way to get around #NYC. Hope for jetpack availability soon. #TravelSkills

replying to @united @united @travelskills Awesome tip! Anything free would be a bonus! #TravelSkills

replying to @cjmcginnis @cjmcginnis On foot! You won’t get stuck in traffic, it’s cheap and great exercise #TravelSkills

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A5 Walking for getting to places within reasonable distances. Subway for farther destinations. Unless it’s 7am Sunday morning stay away from cars if at all possible. #travelskills

A4. Not sure if this is sufficiently non-touristy enough, but @EllensStardust is always an absolute must-try for us. #TravelSkills https://t.co/G92qV6UfzA

A4: Explore the other boroughs. I’ve found the best food, kindest people, and amazing experiences outside of Manhattan. Like dim sum in Flushing, Queens. #FoodieFriday #travelskills @cjmcginnis @JohnnyJet @united https://t.co/on1J9a3TJV

Walking and public transit definitely the way to go in #NewYorkCity. The subway is great, but you get better views on a bus. The city also has added more ferries to Brooklyn and Queens. The Staten Island Ferry is free, w/ fab Statue of Liberty views. A #TravelSkills
@nycgo

A5 Subway is still the fastest, cheapest way to get around NYC. Pro Tip: There are local (black) and express (white) stops/trains #TravelSkills

Put your top spots into a google map and try to stay in one area of the city (like Manhattan or Bronx). NYC is huge and you will not be able to explore it all in one trip. The more spread out your must-dos are the less you will have time for overall. #TravelSkills https://t.co/MYaNffcD2q

A3: Explore Queens and Brooklyn if you can. You'll find amazing cuisine from around the world, unique experiences, history and you'll avoid the bustling crowds! #TravelSkills

A5: Strap on a good pair of shoes and get out and walk! Or the subway of course!v #travelskills

A5 I’m going to say subway line 1 (as it’s the only one I’ve ever rode!) Hits Central Park, Broadway, Times Square, Penn Station, Greenwich Village, all the way downtown. #TravelSkills

replying to @cjmcginnis @cjmcginnis Beautiful! What a beautiful time of year to capture that view! #TravelSkills

replying to @united @united @travelskills Cool! I love specially designed planes! #TravelSkills Though I don't think I've ever flown in one. 😊😉🤷🏻♀️

replying to @JohnnyJet @JohnnyJet A5: Subway. Or on foot if you're in Manhattan. #travelskills

replying to @Heather_Poole @Heather_Poole @Bryantparkhotel @nypl I mean is there anything to not like in NYC? #TravelSkills

RT @travelskills: Q6 Favorite New York City airport? Why? #TravelSkills https://t.co/YuZGchvDwd

replying to @united @united A6 White Plains (HPN) because it’s small and closer to where I grew up. But LGA if I’m going to the city. #TravelSkills

A6. Favorite #NYC airport? Easy. JFK. It’s the best people-watching. I’ve never been anywhere that passengers had such ridiculously, grossly oversized luggage. Har! #TravelSkills

replying to @united @united A6 Ever since United moved all its flights to Newark, I’ve been a convert. Great Terminal C, easy connections to Manhattan. #TravelSkills

Also, I'm not embarrassed to ride the big red double decker tour bus around the city. Buy a 2 day pass and use it as transportation. FYI if you don't get off the bus it takes 2 hours to circle manhattan. Well, from the tip of Manhattan to Central Park. #TravelSkills #NewYork

replying to @united @united TIP JFK has lots of flight options, but it’s horrible getting to or from the city. Plan on 1-2 hours by car in traffic. #TravelSkills

replying to @united @united TIP Newark (EWR) can be cheaper and easier to get to thanks to public transportation! #TravelSkills

A6: Um, none of the above? LOL I guess JFK or Newark because it means a long trip and a fun adventure. #travelskills

A5: Subway. Easiest, fastest & cheapest way to get around. And when the MTA is having a hiccup - wall. #travelskills #nyc https://t.co/K2qwPfheSb

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A5: I'm guessing subway or walking! #TravelSkills

Q5: Best way to get around New York City is the subway and walking. The @Citymapper app is a lifesaver! #TravelSkills

Check out these key buzz words from the first half of today's #TravelSkills chat! Thanks, @united!

A5- There's so much to miss in #NYC if you aren't walking #travelskills #travelingsession

replying to @travelskills @travelskills A6 All kidding aside that would be EWR. Cohesive terminal layout, easy transportation to New Jersey & Manhattan. Only wish is their Airtrain trains are replaced with cars that carry more than 4 people per car. #travelskills
