Q7: What are your best tips for saving on campground fees, and/or camp equipment? #WeekendWanderlust

A7: That’s the beauty of camping…it’s generally pretty cheap regardless…it’s way cheaper than hotels for sure :) If you visit Iceland, you can rent camping gear for cheap! https://t.co/gleSbpPTUV #WeekendWanderlust

I don't do much camping, so I don't really know. I've heard you can rent from REI though? Of course, if you are doing a lot of camping, it's probably best to own your own stuff. A7 #weekendwanderlust

replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A7 Best way to save on campground fee is to camp in a National Park with maybe some amenities but generally no shower. Really cheap. Usually $8-20. Or "boondock" and stay on BLM or Forestry for free or a minimal fee. Most of the time there isn't any amenities. #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @ABritSoutherner @ABritSoutherner A7: A lot of NP's are surrounded by National Forest. Can rough camp it most anywhere. Be aware when shopping for equipment at the "outdoor" stores, one can pile on endlessly to the point that the tonnage becomes burdensome. #weekendwanderlust
