replying to @Travel_Session @Travel_Session Haha! Do you have any other suggestions for Malta? Looking for wine bars, too. Going in November. #weekendwanderlust

replying to @KabuliKitchen @KabuliKitchen OMG - That looks fantastic! #WeekendWanderlust

A4- I'm eating what the locals eat. When I go somewhere, I want the full experience #WeekendWanderlust #travelingsession

replying to @TravelLatte @TravelLatte @StraightToAle @Campus805 @Go2HuntsvilleAL @CivilAxeHSV They may not have been open when you were in town for #TBEXHSV. The city continues to grow, so LOTS of reasons to return. #WeekendWanderlust

A4: all of the above! I like a good mix of a nice restaurant, some street food, and some comfort foods #WeekendWanderlust (ok, no street food in my latest #Scotland trip, but fed some nice meals and comforting Scottish breakfast) đ @TravelLatte

A5: Salt & Straw. They make weird flavors out of leftover food that would normally be wasted, like strawberry celery ice cream. Mio Sushi is the best sushi restaurant in PDX/Voodoo Doughnuts is overrated #weekendwanderlust

replying to @wildheartedblog @wildheartedblog @ABritSoutherner @TravelLatte @WWTravelChat Thanks for hosting this chat! #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A3 i want to go to new orleans and experience all of that good #weekendwanderlust

replying to @jetsettingjoggr @jetsettingjoggr @WWTravelChat Oh dang....we didn't even think about sushi and miso and bento. Okay, add Japan to our Foodie Bucket List! :) #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @TravelLatte @TravelLatte Thanks! Cooked it myself in my new home in the #Bronx! #Weekendwanderlust

RT @LindayForDayz: A4: It's not all about the food, it's about where I'll have the best experience. Sometimes I feel like wining and diningâŠ

#WeekendWanderlust #Travel Chat Q6: Chain Restaurants â when you travel abroad, do you try them, or try to avoid them?

replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A4 definitely local comfort food #weekendwanderlust

A6: Depending on the time allowed we might go to chain or just skip completely. #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A5 i live in ny so that's hard bc we have all different types of food theres everything for everyone #weekendwanderlust

A6: I try to avoid chain restaurants in general, BUT sometimes they are worth trying to find local twists on American classics. I eat at @McDonaldsJapan about once a month so I can try the newest specialty item. The premium burgers are REALLY delicious! #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @PostcardJar @PostcardJar @wildheartedblog @ABritSoutherner @WWTravelChat Thanks for being a part of the fun! We love being part of this fun & vibrant #travel community! #WeekendWanderlust

A6 - I love trying McDonalds abroad as itâs usually much more vegetarian-friendly than @McDonaldsCanada. I had Brie McNuggets in Ukraine! #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A6 try to avoid them so i can try different things #weekendwanderlust

A6. On the rare occasion we've tried a chain restaurant abroad, we find they still have a local twist. That said, we do try to avoid them and eat local cuisine. #weekendwanderlust

A5- There are too many good restaurants to pick just one, but I'd recommend trying one with a view #WeekendWanderlust #travelingsession

#WeekendWanderlust A6: Heck, we avoid chain restaurants at home! AlthoughâŠweâd be interested in the local variations of McDâs in Asia. You knowâŠtasting for a friend⊠#travel (Photos: Lewd Foods https://t.co/RHE713Ymqs )

Not my hometown but if you're around Dallas go to Babe's Chicken Dinner Restaurant #weekendwanderlust

replying to @TravelLatte @TravelLatte Fun fact: Nepal doesnât have a McDonaldâs AT ALL. #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @wildheartedblog @wildheartedblog I haven't been able to travel abroad yet but I follow my foodie rule when traveling the states. I try to stick to local or mom and pop places than my comfort chain restaurants. I love to have a unique food experience in new places #weekendwanderlust

replying to @lannietravels @lannietravels @21212Edinburgh @MhorHotel @EdinburghLarder Scotland, Ireland & England all do fantastic breakfast spreads! We always over do it at breakfast in Ireland/UK. But, that's okay....right? ;) #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @WWTravelChat
@WWTravelChat Hell NO. I don't do chain restaurants when I travel. The food at those restaurants is disgusting at home and abroad.
#WeekendWanderlust

replying to @StevenOnTheMove The monthly specialty drinks at @Starbucks_J are also amazing! I loved the #STRAWBERRYVERYMUCHFRAPPUCCINO_RED was divine! #WeekendWanderlust

A6: We used to always go to chain restaurants when we were first traveling since we don't have many in our hometown. Now, we avoid them as much as possible. Local is way better! #weekendwanderlust

replying to @wildheartedblog @wildheartedblog Not too surprised! I think that's probably a good thing, too. ;) #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @wildheartedblog @wildheartedblog @TravelLatte Cambodia doesn't either. There is only ONE Burger King in all of Cambodia, and, of course, it is located in Siem Reap. #WeekendWanderlust

Q6: When you're traveling with several autistic children you have to throw in some chain restaurants for familiarity. I appreciate a good chain restaurant when one of the local recommended places turns out to not be my thing #weekendwanderlust

A4. We do all 3! We love everything from street food to fine dining #weekendwanderlust

Q7: What destinations do you think of for great street food / food trucks? #WeekendWanderlust

Food trucks? @visitmusiccity and @VisitAustinTX
#WeekendWanderlust

A7: I haven't been there yet, but #Osaka is known for its street food. I cannot wait to explore it with @TravelingTVI in the not too far future. #WeekendWanderlust
