Hidden Gems
WeekendWanderlust
Q1: How do you define a "hidden gem"? What makes someplace a hidden gem in your book? #WeekendWanderlust
A1: I'd define a hidden gem as somewhere beyond the guidebook, something the locals know but may not be well known otherwise, and so on. #WeekendWanderlust
#WeekendWanderlust A1: We think Hidden Gems are places that are special in some way, but off the radar for most people. Sometimes, that “something special” is unique to the traveler, which makes them really personal #travel experiences.
replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A1: Something that appeals to any one or more of my 5 senses, but is some sort of a getaway without much people. It's someplace that draws my soul, I guess. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A1: A hidden gem is a place most people don't know about, like this abandoned monastery turned national park just outside #MexicoCity! #WeekendWanderlust
A1: something that is off the beaten path and not marketed heavily for tourism #WeekendWanderlust
A1 A hidden gem is somewhere that is off the beaten path and away from the hustle #WeekendWanderlust
A1: hidden gems are places that aren't crowded and aren't advertised on travel websites. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A1: A place that I stumble upon accidentally or is recommended by a local. Nothing that makes a highly circulated social media post listing "hidden gems." By the time that happens, they aren't hidden anymore. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @TravelLatte @TravelLatte A1. A hidden gem to me is a place, a restaurant, and/or a shop that no one really knows about. That is not some crazy tourist spot. #WeekendWanderlust #TravelChat
