replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A1: A place that I stumble upon accidentally or is recommended by a local. Nothing that makes a highly circulated social media post listing "hidden gems." By the time that happens, they aren't hidden anymore. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @WanderlustJ1 @WanderlustJ1 @wildheartedblog Just on time! Welcome! #weekendwanderlust
replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A3: I prefer to stumble across them, but if I know someone who has traveled somewhere recently I will ask them for suggestions of local places/things off the beaten path to check out. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @ABritSoutherner @ABritSoutherner @WWTravelChat 1) I’m a sucker for small towns 2) They have a guide and plaques on the ground throughout the city #Weekendwanderlust
replying to @travel2findself @travel2findself @WWTravelChat I agree. That's kinda ironic, isn't it? #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A4: Hidden gems for sure! #WeekendWanderlust
A5- When I lived in Germany my daughter came home and mentioned something about Brugge. a week later we went. Sometimes it's good to take the advice of an 8-year-old. #WeekendWanderlust #travelingsession
replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A3: A little bit of both, I guess! It's good to look for them and it's also good to stumble upon them by surprise. Makes life a bit more exciting! #WeekendWanderlust
Q6: They're "hidden" gems for a reason! Tell us about one you tried to find but couldn't. #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @TheWanderLyz @TheWanderLyz @WWTravelChat Yes, I agree. I like a mixture of both too. #WeekendWanderlust
A4 Usually we visit based on tourist attractions however we discover hidden gems and spend our time exploring different areas. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @WWTravelChat @WWTravelChat A4: I guess that depends. I don't like going to extremely crowded places unless I know the crowds are part of the experience. But for quieter trips, I prefer to go to those hidden gems. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @wildheartedblog @wildheartedblog @WWTravelChat Indeed! #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @Travel_Session @Travel_Session Sometimes kids know best for sure or they see things in a different way! #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @WanderlustJ1 @WanderlustJ1 @wildheartedblog The element of surprise is always fun #weekendwanderlust
replying to @ABritSoutherner @ABritSoutherner If you walk from tourist attraction to tourist attraction, you're bound to find hidden gems along the way! That's why I love walkable cities. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @ABritSoutherner @ABritSoutherner The Teller's Room above Bankers in Dublin. Go for a stew. We were wandering down Trinity Street, starving, and popped into the pub. But we followed the sign upstairs and wow! So quaint, quiet, and delicious! #WeekendWanderlust

@WWTravelChat A5: One of my most favorite #hiddengems will always be this little island in Hong Kong, Peng Chau. It doesn't have those big tourist attractions like Disneyland. but it's a quiet little place where you can learn to make pottery and eat in delicious restos.

A2: One of my favorites is Leavenworth, WA! It's a few hours outside of Seattle. It's a German-themed town. Here we are with some fancy pub pretzels! Best pretzels I've ever had. #WeekendWanderlust

A3: If I was able to research hidden gems they wouldn't be hidden gems! I usually try to get to small towns or "weird" things in big towns like the Hollywood dead tour. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @LindayForDayz @LindayForDayz Leavenworth is fantastic! Would love to go back again. #WeekendWanderlust
A7: I don't know that I'd call Nepal off the radar but I think it's not as highly thought of as many other Asian countries. I just got back and fell in love! #WeekendWanderlust
A4- Honestly, I can do hidden gems or tourist hotspots. I'm just happy to go somewhere I've never been to before. #WeekendWanderlust #travelingsession
A5 we were hiking through Elephant State Park and stumbled across this lovely ruin with tracks in the middle. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @TheWanderLyz @TheWanderLyz @WWTravelChat That sounds awesome! Would love to visit! #WeekendWanderlust
A4: I like being on the outskirts of a big city so I can choose! Mostly I go where there are fewer crowds. I'll only go to tourist hot spots on off-times. #WeekendWanderlust
replying to @LindayForDayz @LindayForDayz Oh that tour sounds awesome! #WeekendWanderlust
