It really depends on ones definition. 😂

I once planned a spontaneous trip to Australia because a company advertised West coast #roadtrips. I had no idea when it came to the route, but it was the best trip ever! 🚌🌿🇦🇺 #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @byland_and_sea @byland_and_sea @TravelLatte That is funny! I was shocked yet happy to find out that while traveling cross country the first rest stop after crossing a state boarder has free state maps. #WeekendWanderlust

A6- On the personal side I stay social while I'm traveling. On the blogging side, I wait until I get home.....and sober up

replying to @brimiers @brimiers That sounds overwhelming and stressful to me. I usually just check out @TripAdvisor and @Yelp. If I want to go really in-depth, I search for the destination + "blog reviews". Sometimes videos of the place come up which feels really accurate. #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @obligatraveler @obligatraveler In one sense, it probably happens less today, as it's easier to verify, and see other photos/content about a place. Back in the day, the one photo of a destination might've been the only one. #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @brimiers @brimiers If I do post to Facebook during the day, I usually don't post on it that night. #WeekendWanderlust

replying to @StevenOnTheMove @StevenOnTheMove Think that is why I tend to wait til l get home and post on all the platforms. Yet I hate it since it kinda feels stale to me, but it is still fresh to those I know on social media. #WeekendWanderlust

I cannot speak for others, but this is my main research material for a potential #roadtrip . 🚌

I love #travel guides! 🧳

Blogs and SM are amazing resources, but they’ll never replace my guides 🌿

replying to @WanderlustJ1 @WanderlustJ1 It's why I try to post about one thing per day on each platform. However, I don't always post the same content on each platform. For example, I'll share a foodie pic on IG, but definitely won't post that to Facebook. #WeekendWanderlust

WanderlustJ1

replying to @TravelLatte @TravelLatte A7: Instagram since I mostly take pictures and its easy to quickly send. #WeekendWanderlust

A8: In part, for sure. Hard to know exactly how much though. I also wouldn't say it's just social media but access to more information in general. #WeekendWanderlust

A8: Somewhat because some of us are responsible. That is a key world for some of these folks that don’t respect a destination, it doesn’t have to be the pyramids to have to have respect. Travel ethically! #WeekendWanderlust

A8: Social media plays a role in over tourism, but it is NOT the sole cause. More people are able to travel now than ever before, so we are bound to seek out the same places. #WeekendWanderlust

A5.

It depends on the medium. Some blogs give you an accurate representation while some pictures are so photoshopped that it’s barely possible to recognize the destination 🙈

If do stay “social”, will do it at the end of the day. In bed in the hostel.

During some trips I share my adventures digitally, but every now and then I turn off my phone. 🌿

Being offline definitely has its advantages, but I love being able to share the amazing places I see with whoever is interested 🌅🌿
