replying to @VTPaddlePups @VTPaddlePups Good points! I agree about not seeing other hikers early in the morning. On our trip to Big Bend NP we were often the only one on the trail early in the morning! #GearMeOut

A10 #GearMeOut Though it was hotter in other places, no place felt as hot as Panama with high temp and humidity. Here I am looking dapper - I couldn't get comfortable for months.

A3: I'm kinda torn here. I'm as equally active in both Seasons.
In Summer, I'm kayaking-camping all over the place. Since it's a water sport, even 98° is comfortable.
In Winter, snowshoeing,XC skiing and hiking-camping.

replying to @UST_Survival @UST_Survival @Todd_the_Hiker Sometimes - but hard to get a start that early with so many little (and teenage) kids! #GearMeOut

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker I was in a place in Mexico known as the Gates of Hell to the locals. It was 118 when I was there. #GearMeOut

replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 Exactly, don't push yourself to the point you are in danger. #GearMeOut

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker A10 Visiting San Antonio in August, cycled the Mission trail , temps 105 degrees, Texas heat, had to stop in at the mission churches to cool off. Sorry, no photos! #gearmeout

replying to @t_jh2009 @t_jh2009 Travel time does have to be factored in. I'm usually up before the sun so it does give me a chance to drive a little ways to see the sunrise! #GearMeOut

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker A8) I always prefer mornings but an after dinner jaunt is sometimes the cure to crazy kiddos being cooped up on a hot day so family hikes are usually in the evenings. #GearMeOut

replying to @beckyjlomax @beckyjlomax @MeToddScott @UST_Survival That's good to hear! #GearMeOut

replying to @VTPaddlePups @VTPaddlePups @Todd_the_Hiker Too busy having fun to take any? #GearMeOut

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker A10: I haven’t gone on any adventures outside my provinces as of yet. So it would be summer adventures in Nova Scotia, but as I keep reiterating, we stick to the coast. #GearMeOut

replying to @UST_Survival @UST_Survival @Todd_the_Hiker It can be especially if everyone else wants to go the same direction. That's when you learn to go when most people are at work or doing something special on a particular day like Mother's Day has been a good time for me to go to Yosemite. #GearMeOut

replying to @NatureCrank @NatureCrank @Todd_the_Hiker I would have melted. #GearMeOut

replying to @MeToddScott @MeToddScott @beckyjlomax @UST_Survival That would be quite awkward, I would think! #GearMeOut

replying to @fullvanfun @fullvanfun @Todd_the_Hiker I can see that, it's hard enough with adults. #GearMeOut

replying to @UST_Survival @UST_Survival @Todd_the_Hiker Haha...this was before digital cameras were prevalent! Film probably would have melted....#gearmeout

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker A10 I'm a heat wimp...woke up on the rim of the Grand Canyon with frozen mud puddles and frozen water bottles...then hiked to Phantom Ranch where it was 105 degrees. All I could do was sit in the creek. Sooooo hot. #gearmeout

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker A6) Heading to the giant trees of the sequoias! #GearMeOut

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker @VTPaddlePups Sounds like a great hike and romantic. #GearMeOut

A7: hmm...plan activies during pre-dawn & late afternoon (after 3-4pm) when it's not nearly so hot. Also, there's plenty of environs that can be enjoyed after dusk,
Full Moon Paddles, Hikes & even Trail Running. :) Dark doesn't have to mean bedtime!
#GearMeOut

replying to @MeToddScott @MeToddScott @beckyjlomax @Todd_the_Hiker Of course. #GearMeOut

replying to @fullvanfun @fullvanfun @UST_Survival That's a good point. I guess being empty nesters and early risers we forget those things unless we're traveling with the kids & grandkids! #GearMeOut

replying to @Todd_the_Hiker @Todd_the_Hiker A10) I'd say last year in Palm Desert with 110°+ heat, that's why I headed up into the nearby mountains to cool off. #GearMeOut
