A1. Well, depends on what in doing when I get to my destination. If it's just a weekend citybreak, then I'm taking virtually nothing. But otherwise it might be my hiking gear and a tent, wetsuit and snorkelling kit, sailing oilskins. #pttravel

A2 My essentials are phone, money/cards, passport, some clothes (can take minimal for weekends) and small bag for toiletries. That's more than enough really & defo goes in carry on. I have that plus a few bits (book, laptop) this weekend on train, so backpack too

#pttravel A2: See, as long as I have a spare set of clothing, I don't think anything is *essential*. A couple of USB leads and a plug. That's maybe it?
I tend to take a pen and notebook everywhere though.
