replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie A1. Closest to home, I visit the Jurassic Coast quite often to dive or go sailing, as well as hunt for fossils. My favourites are the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef in Belize, where I learned to dive + Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland #PTTravel

Q2 Do you travel specifically to see these sites or are they just part of your trips? Are they easy to add into a trip and why/why not?

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie Thanks Kate. The end of the holiday is dribs and drabs of work to get ready as both Jim and I lead rather large teams. But with yoga, buying hamsters, going for walks etc. I am excited though as it seems I may be able to actually teach a class in Sept! #pttravel

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A2: I don't travel specifically to them because they're UNESCO listed. In fact, I usually don't realise that they are.

I just go cos I hear or read about them, and they sound good/interesting/pretty.

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #pttravel A1: I've been to 16+2 from those lists. Most recommended: Yellowstone for colours and wildlife, Dolomites for best views. I found Komodo a bit disappointing as it's almost like going to the zoo.

A2 #PTTravel Usually, if an organised tour has a Heritage Site on the itinerary, I'll choose that over one that hasn't
However, there are those who say you can't, for example, go to Brazil without seeing the Iguassu Falls.

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @kate_frankie #pttravel I would agree with this. We look at what's around and what would be good - often that does coincide with a UNESCO WH site. Tbh we do use the top 500 places to travel and atlas oscura more🤣🤣

replying to @kate_frankie @kate_frankie #PTTravel A2: some of them I specifically travelled to, but not because of their UNESCO status. But I think all were part of a bigger trip. The one that's definitely worth their own trip is Yellowstone, although I combined it with 2 weeks on a working ranch in Wyoming.
