replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 A1 - museums are always high on our list when visiting cities, but it’s not usually the only reason. #NYC comes to mind for us. last time we were there we had to go to the MOMI (museum of the moving image) in Queens for their video game exhibit. They also had muppets! #TRLT

I even wrote about it, I loved it that much! #TRLT https://t.co/Qy1aVlDYKF

#trlt A2: also, in Bletchley UK there's a couple of museums on the site of Bletchley Park, the WW2 codebreaking operation. One of them though is basically a history of computing and computers. You can play games, yes.

replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @PureTraveller A2: Well NYC is hardly off the beaten track, but the Tenement Museum, on the lower East Side, is fantastic -- vernacular life. Also, total opposite, the Beaux Arts mansion on the Upper East Side, The Neue Galerie -- with Klimt's portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer. #TRLT

replying to @RTWBarefoot #TRLT A2: there is also, related, it was in Nottingham but is now in Sheffield, a museum specifically devoted to computer games, from the late 1970s arcade cabinets through to modern consoles and experimental things.

A2: A lesser known museum, I'd recommend on The Road Less Travelled, is the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum 🏄‍♂️ in California, a gnarly glimpse into surf culture. I love the ironing board, Burt Landess used as a belly board at Cowells beach.
