A1. Well, I don't have a photo of the actual journey, but to get back to work in Landmannalaugar last March, there was so much snow that the journey took 14 hours (much of which was spent trudging through snow in front of a superjeep to show the way). (1/2) #TRLT

A1 (2/2) The final few kms were so bad, we couldn't bring the superjeep at all, and had to trudge on foot, dragging all our food & possessions (prepared for 2 months) on foot. Arrived fine. 2 days later the hut had to close (pandemic) and we had to repeat the journey back. #TRLT

@JourneyHeroApp I can imagine. Although, if I had an expensive drone, I wouldn't fly it close to the volcano, I mean, it can be quite hot & dusty (ash) in there. With my luck, the drone would end up in the volcano. :-)

A2: Family 🛩️ back from Isles of Scilly cancelled due to storm (there was one place on a 🚁, but that would have meant leaving wife & daughter behind 😜), so got an extra night there (& went to a pub to play Top Trumps, of course).

We got slower the closer we got to the hut, finally travelling at a slower speed than a human (me or Dan) could walk through snow higher than our knees (the snow is about 5m deep, but compressed). #trlt
