A4: Losing my luggage in the Amazon. Had to travel back to Lima without any clothes. It eventually turned up. That was a stressful time #TRLT
replying to @ShebsAlom @ShebsAlom That is the funniest thing ever that could ever happen to anyone not to mention in China #TRLT

Discovering that I couldn't use an ATM in Myanmar and I had to plan the next 6 days, plus my trip back to Yangon, with only the cash I brought. #trlt https://t.co/FcS9FLXCpa

#TRLT A1 Memorable travel challenge/misadventure: one of our days at Petra was cut short by a flash flood. Government ordered an evacuation of the site, as three German tourists had drowned in the Siq the previous year. Water about a metre high as police drove us through the Siq.
RT @HeidiSiefkas: A4 I'm not a fan of heights, but I had to do it in #NewZealand. I've also done skydiving twice. You just have to talk yo…
replying to @Nilemajesty @Nilemajesty It wasn’t funny when he jumped out. I was like what’s going on. I went out and looked down and went ohh okay 😂 #TRLT
#TRLT Q4 again: What is the most daunting challenge you’ve faced on The Road Less Travelled, and how did you overcome it? Show us a photo! via @afewmilesmore

replying to @LindaPeters64 @LindaPeters64 @afewmilesmore A4. the very first high-altitude hike i did in Peru absolutely destroyed me. #trlt
replying to @BradtGuides @BradtGuides @LindaPeters64 @postcardsplaces And I appeared to let them into the bedroom...they escaped from the ensuite bathroom when I opened the door to go to the toilet. An ensuite with no electric light, water in a bucket and a long drop. It was scary when I saw the black wave approaching me from the toilet...#TRLT
replying to @Touchse @Touchse @afewmilesmore A4: ruptured my Achilles tendon while in a miniscule paradisiac atoll called #Ahe, #FrenchPolynesia. I was alone so it was the biggest #travel challenge ever for me to go back to civilization, go to hospital and ultimately return to Italy for surgery (took me one week!) #TRLT
A3. I tell this story often on Twitter and I don't have a photo. When I was in high school, my grandfather fell/walked into the sewer/"full" open manhole in downtown Acapulco. He recovered quickly and was fine--just an extremely bruised (and smelly) ego. #TRLT
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @postcardsplaces A3. On the subject of missed transportation, I’ll never forget the feeling of sitting on the train I expected to take me to Edinburgh (for Geneva) and instead watch the one at the next platform pull out of the station. #TRLT
A4: Lost in Granada. Wasn't told the Airbnb was in an alley. Wandered alone, dragging my luggage for nearly an hour before putting my fate in the hands of a kind young man. #thekindnessofstrangers via @afewmilesmore #TRLT

@StuartMHurlbut @LindaPeters64 @postcardsplaces I've had some similar experiences and I'll never forget them. 5star hotel room that got filled with thousands of flying injects (no idea what they were but couldn't even breath, there were so many, yak!) and once there was a big spider on my pillow in Australia at 3 am.
#TRLT
replying to @BomaHills @BomaHills @BradtGuides A5: Definitely Mount Kenya and I hope I can do it next year. #TRLT
replying to @Ken_Budd
@Ken_Budd Love the outcome from this misadventure, Ken.
We met a couple in Jamaica, upset about overpaying our tour guide, I called him asked him to return 1/2 of the $$ and lucky for them he did.
I am still friends with the couple. 🙂

A4. they asked if I would like to return to Albania. I replied (reasonably, in my view): "In order for me to come back, you have to let me leave."

replying to @ChinaMatt @ChinaMatt Same! Only it was because we didn’t know there were no ATMs in Niger, so we had to spend a few days relying on the kindness of strangers until our parents could WesternUnion us some money. #trlt

A4: one of the most daunting challenges we faced on The
Road Less Travelled, was blowing
a tire on our motorcycle, late on a Sunday afternoon on the way home from an #Oregon roadtrip. Realizing shops were closed, we repaired the tire & made it home.

@StuartMHurlbut @LindaPeters64 @postcardsplaces ...roaches are the worst! I remember literally hearing & smelling them at night in Australia, I lived in a 3-story building, top floor and they still snack in from the balcony door, it was just nasty. Sprayed my bedroom every night, just to be safe, hated that!
#TRLT
replying to @HeidiSiefkas @HeidiSiefkas @afewmilesmore A4) As someone who has collected them for over 50 years I found it a challenge to find postcards in some countries in the last 5 years. Even at a few airports I've gotten strange looks because they don't seem to know what they are. ☹ #TRLT
replying to @RTWBarefoot @RTWBarefoot @afewmilesmore A4. Teachings English in Russia took me well outside of my comfort zone, especially the day my students drove me out into the middle of nowhere to a barbecue at an abandoned airport and horse-riding in the dark. #TRLT
A4: How does cycling the Pamir Highway sound? To tackle it you need to be fit, have done your research and have a very hardy bicycle with plenty of spares. https://t.co/J4uY82g4qh #TRLT
